Street boots and pants, whats covering your arsh

Looking at kevlar lined jeans like Draggin or Sartrso jeans. Also looking at some safe full boots,I don't think short boots protect anckles enough, that are tollerable off the bike. You guys help me out with input on these things pros and cons on these brands or other good ones, because I want to get them right the 1st time, because good gear isn't cheap. Thanks Peyton

I wear the Alpinestar SMX 5 boot. I mainly chose them due to them being available in a Euro Size 50. They were the only boots i could find that fit and were very comfortable. I could not see myself running a marathon in them but for their intended purpose they fit and feel great.

As far as pants and jacket I prefer perforated leathers so you can stay cool in the summer. Don't believe the jeans with kevlar have enough protection if you want to think about a fall and slide. Also believe in zip together stuff or one piece.

i generally wear a 16 in Vans or DC shoes, i tried on a few different boots to see what fit and the SMX5 were the only ones that fit. my foot is not very wide and it does feel like i have a little room width wise but probably not as much as you would need to be comfortable.

I do have a pair of size 14 or 15 Alpine Star Dirt boots sitting on the shelf in the garage. I have not cleaned them or used them since i sold my quad 5 or 6 months ago...lol

Where abouts in TN are you located i looked up Lebanon but it says there are four towns with that name? All are in different counties i guess... i drive down there a few times a year. (my son's mother lives in TN as well She is in Lexington which is about 30 minutes east of Jackson.)

Patrick thats cool you brought the smx5 boot to me because Brian Van at Sport Bike Track Gear recomended to me today. Can you walk around off the bike comfortably in them? Will jeans slide over them so i dont look like a space invader?

Thanks for the mental picture (sometimes i do not pull jeans over the boots)

But yes as long as you don't wear the nutt hugger jeans you should have no problem. I wear straight leg jeans and they fit over them just fine. Its a shame your not closer because you really should try them on and check the width before you purchase them. I talked my local shop into ordering them just so i could try them on first. They did without payment upfront mainly due to me buying a lot from them in the past. Also the boots did stretch a bit after i wore them for a week or two. When i first got them they were a tight fit for me but soon stretched in the right places and fit well. I have owned these for almost 3 years now and just slightly starting to show signs of needing replaced. I think i still have a good year or two left in them before i should replace them.

And for the other question, Yes i can walk around comfortably. You still have the common restrictions of wearing boots. But they do flex on top of the foot enough to where it is not uncomfortable to walk around. They remind me of wearing a pair of work boots. Same flexibility and movement only better protection. They are not like a regular shoe but are the next best thing IMO.

I wondered what a naked bike was now I know. About the perforated leathers they are really nice and cool maybe a little warm when stopped compared to a t shirt but as soon as you start moving they really vent. That is a stock photo many brands just go to a cycle shop and try some on I like the ones with built in spine protector also.

I have a pair like these and I ride in Texas, there is no way I can wear mine in anything over 90 degrees or I'll get a bad case of baboon arse.

As far as boots go I wear a 10 triple wide and the gaerne brand make boots I can wear all day, not the most comfortable shoes I have but close
