What would cause a notchy clutch engagement?

My clutch seems very notchy and does not engage smoothly? Any ideas on what it might be? Does it need to be re-bled? 10,500 miles on it? Could the clutch be going?

Possably a worn hub. The steels noch the hub over time.

Mine felt "notchy" when I installed heavy springs. I went back to the
stockers and the clutch was fine.

I'd check the stack height, look at the fibers and steels closely. as said up, "notchy" clutch can happen very easy from a wrapped steel.

And what would they have wrapped the steels with?

I bet there if you took the clutch apart you'd see a few glazed steel plates.

I guess I will have an over winter job to do! I will probably just replace the clutch. Is OEM the way to go or aftermarket? any recommendations? Jim if the hub is notched or worn will that need replacement as well or will just new steels and fibers be OK?

If the clutch hub is worn, I would replace it. They aren't really expensive.
