air shifter problems

Hello i just installed an airshifter on the ZX14 and took it track last night for some test and tuning. I had the shift light set at 10800 and would hit the button when the light would illuminate. It would always make the 1-2 shift but would never make the 2-3 shift at that rpm. if i shifted at 10000 it would make the 2-3 shift every time. I increased the kill time just a little bit but that didnt help. I also reclocked the shifter so the cylinder would have a longer throw ( i wasnt sure the cylinder had enough room to pull the shifter up into the next gear) but that didnt help. Has anyone ever experience this problem. Your advice and ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try 10,600 shift point.

Check the clevis, the piece the connects the air shifter with the shift lever. Make sure the clevis isn't coming into contact with the lever when it lifts at each shift. I had that problem one time, would not go into 3 or 4th for nothing. Come to find out, the upper part of the clevis was making contact with the lever, so I have to grind down some of the metal so that they would not touch anymore. Been working fine ever since, for 4 years now.
Make sure to have 125-130 psi in the air tank prior to making the run, and make sure the solenoid isn't too far away from the ram.

Hello Ninja, i lengthed the clevis about 3 three threads and also increased the kill time on the box to the max and then backed it off just a islight amount. Changed the shift light to 10600 and took the bike to the Dallas Raceway last Friday. The first pass off the trailer was a 9.86 and the shifter performed flawlessly. During the night the shifter went from first to neutral twice but other than that it worked great. Thanks very much for you and everyone else's advice. it is difinitely appreciated.
