Any one ever used Michelin's warranty

I have a set of michelin pilot road dual compound tires on my 14. Recently I was having some brake issues on the bike so I took the wheel and rotors to the shop to have the rotors checked for flatness. They are within spec so that is no problem but when they had the wheel on the balancer you could clearly see a bubble on the front tire, the tech told me it looks exaclty like a broken belt in the tire. These tires have a little less then 3k miles on them and look really good . So my question is has anyone delt with a bad tire or michelins customer service.

Thanks Steve

I have. We had a customer buy a 120/70 PP 2CT...tire cupped in less than 600 miles with 35 psi up front on a street R6. 2CTs cup quick compared to other tires but this was just too quick. We dealt with our Michelin distributor, not Michelin as a company directly. Process took a couple weeks to iron out. They upgraded the tire to a Power Pure and the customer just had to pay the few bucks difference as the 2CT was discontinued.

Yeah my tire is also cupped slightly but isn't bad, I'm worried about how this is going to go because I ordered the tire from motorcycle superstore and there is only one motorcycle dealer in town. They never mounted the tire or had anything to do with it so it is kind of unfair if they need to deal with this. And the lady I talked to at michelin wasn't very much help just told me to take it to a shop that worked on motorcycles. We will see how it goes hopefully I won't need to spend a month without a bike.

Best to contact the place you bought it from. In this case it would be motorcycle superstore. We have a lot of drop shipments from them but haven't had to deal with returns or claims as of yet. Keep in mind even if they go through with it you probably don't want your bike stuck on stands (neither does a shop) until the credit process finishes. You may have to buy another tire (maybe from them?) and then get credited back when they receive the defective tire.

Good luck.

So I think I will take your advice and go ahead and pick up another tire so I don't have my bike down for another month, my question is will a pilot pure work okay with a road dual compound rear. I figure this way when my rear wears out the front should be about ready to be replaced. Or should I just stick with the dual compound road 2

Road 2 will work fine with a power pure although a matching set would be best.

How does the tire cupping happen? Too heavy for the tire? Bad suspension? Tire balance issue? Ive had that happen to my 02' VFR800 and my ZX14. (Both fat ass 540lb+ bikes) Im guessing its a weight since that never happened to my Gixxer 750.

Hmm thats weird my factory bridgestone and my michelin pilot road cupped with the 14. I'm not sure what causes the issue though.

It could be improper inflation my guess.... On my heavy bikes ive always had em at 40psi though since steering is heavier.

Usually too low tire pressure....heavy braking doesn't help either.

I kept tire air at around 40psi and the only time I brake hard is when I hit the canyons which isnt that often.
