Stretching Questions....
Ok let me be the Moron who asks this question again.. (i have searched and i cant seem to find the answers i am looking for)
I am looking into stretching my 09. I would like to stretch it right around 4" maybe 5". I do go to the trak every now and then but it is mainly for pleasure street use. If i just add the extensions, chain, etc will i need to put lowering links on it to keep it stock height? I do not want to lower it any due to the stands i use. (pitbull front pin stand) The stand is a PITA to get set in currently and it would be impossible if i lower the front any. So how will the back of the bike sit if i extend it 4-5"?
I am also looking into switching to a Busa spring on the rear shock. I did it on my 07 and i would like to do it again on the 09.
Thanks for all the help..

If you extend it 4-5 inches it will raise the back a bit ..

I weigh in currently at 260. I am 6'4" also so lowering doesnt exactly feel right. I usually take decently long trips with the Girl Friend and she only weighs in at 130lbs.
So i am thinking a Busa spring will help out a bit. The 07 was never stretched though.

You don't need lowering links, but you will probably want them.
Like smokin said stretching will raise the rear of the bike.
Adjustable links will allow you to set the bike stance you want.

as far as using stands go...with extensions you will be forced to use a stand with paddles/flat pads that go under the swingarm. The spool locations are too far forward for a normal stand to work.

I put an extra long tail on my bike to accommodate a large passenger. No problem carrying me 340lbs and my 240lb friend.

i was thinking the spool locations would no longer be applicable. thankfully the rear stand i have can be flipped both ways. Pads or spools. I should still be ok in that boat...

I have been doing some checking and would the EK ZZZ chain be a reliable one to with for mainly street use? i have found it at a reasonable price new and just want to be sure.

Yes... the EKZZZ 150 link chain and use a rivet chain press on the master link. Shane661 has a some pic's on his build thread that shows what to do. The chain guard tab gets in the way if you want to only go back 2 or 3 inches. The side of the tire will hit it. Use cut off wheel and remove the "L" tab from the inside of the swing arm.

should i still remove the tab if i want to go back 5"?
i am thinking it would be a good idea for the just in case aspect but not for sure.
I am also looking into making or purchasing an extended chain guard, I could probably make one way cheaper than i could buy one.

Your fine that far back. Ebay has longer metal chain guards for about $50.00.
