Dyna beads for balancing tires
Well, my newly powdercoated rims are complete and I'm almost finished installing bearings and Vortex sprocket. I heard they have this new method of balancing tires,

You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq263AYgyYg
I've always had my wheels balanced the conventional way and I always seemed to have one spot that shows the belt or a tad bit lower then the rest of the tire. I've also heard some say that the wheel is normally balanced from the factory. I've never tried just to ride the bike minus weights so that could've cause the slightly uneven wear. Have any of you folks heard of this out in the field or tried it personally?
I do know that I WILL NOT put any wieghts on my rims now!

My experience with tire beads in my truck tires (36 x15.5 R20) which takes about 8 to 16 oz per wheel, is if I accellerate too quick, or spin a tire, they will not find balance. If I drive like a granny they worked great.
I got rid of them. I have freind who had the same issues with tire beads.
I have had excellent luck with Michelin tires lately on the bikes, never needing even an ounce to balance.

Awesome, I was going to try no balacing since when I use the "conventional" balancing with the sticky weights, the tire was not truely balanced( the wear was still unbalanced). I have not hit and curbs, no pot holes, and any power wheelies were laid back down with ease. I haven't even taken my bike to the track yet(I'm the only owner with the bike being built upon my deposit/ purchase).

You can order the "Clamp" OEM weights from the on line Kaw dealers. Pack of 6, we thought the part# was for one weight and thought what a ripp off. Finally I went to a dealer and they had a the part# Bag of 6 ...(I think) it's been several years(several in a bag) :-). Friend has a nice tire changer, left them with him. He will file or fine grind the weight to get a perfect balance., stick on or stock type
used both. Been lucky none of the stick on's none have come off at high speed. He finds the heavy location on the wheel with old tire off and new valve stem on, before mounting new Michelins and balancing....rotors on..... works for us.

Well, Lab3 I will post pics on my other on-going thread and I don't want anything blemishing the rims if I can help it..... I think I will try no weights for a pure assessment of balancing. I have paid for balancing in the past and the tire still worn slightly uneven. Maybe no balancing will be better or worst.I will post the results in a few months when I need a new tire.Right now I have to new tires, newly powder coated rims, and more understanding!
Thanks to all!
