Owner of a different ninja, 14 gone

This will be my fourth ninja. Traded in the 14 yesterday. This is a little lighter and much better suited for the track. Not only that I got a fair deal on the 14 trade in. Hate to see it go. I'll still come here for my mechanical questions. This is the most knowledgable site on the mechanics side of bikes I've seen. It could of been worse. I could of got a busa. Its a zx6r. Got the extended Good times warranty on it. So I'm covered for 4 years! Leaving this thing stock for awhile. LAB3 I'd still like to do a track day with you some time. When they redo the 14 and if the financial situation permits I'll get one. For a little while though I'll mess with the little bikes. Well time for the morning ride guys.

NICE.........be an awesome track weapon once you build her up!
Hope you didn't take it in the shorts on the selling price for the 14 - that was a nice ride too

Well, I am 5'7" 130 so not really. I was just wondering becasue I have owned 2 ZX6Rs and 110 HP vs. 165 HP is a huge difference. I wish I still had mine BTW.

Yeah definitely a big big hp difference. Getting off the 14 and on the 6 was a huge difference. Now that I've been riding the 6 for a day I'm getting use to the power and forgetting what a drop off it is in hp. Really can feel the corners now. Feel much more in tune with the road.

Congrats!

You will have to do a bit of work on it to be track worthy/ legal though- brake lines and pads, gearing, safety wiring throughout, frame sliders (actually all sorts of sliders possible and case covers for both sides also!), aftermarket steering damper to replace the oem pos, clip ons (the oem ones are known to damage the forks in a crash), full set of race fairings is a must also.
That's the bare minimum IMHO.
Remember- you are most likely to go down once a season and on a spill on brand new bike is not a great deal of fun. Anything you take to the track might result in a complete loss.

Nice looking 6 Shane, I will miss our going to "The Sopt" where we race at. That custom map you sent and my different gearing made a big difference. Mike's 14 stayed close like you did..just inched him out with Ivans map and 17/43, now I pull and bike or two in each gear.9k to redline it pulls harder up top and the 16T front pepped things up quicker too. You will
lap me on a track with that new 600 :-) glad your Happy. Bring ot over I want to look at it.
