My valve adjust story
Well bike has 26K miles on it 06 so I was anxious to adjust the valves finally 11K miles overdue. I hear a lot of stories about adjustments how they set them to the middle of the spec or a few are out of specs while others say they are still good from the factory. I checked them today and found ( drum roll) all within specs. All intakes were at .006 in and all exhausts were .009 in this is the tight end of the spec. My view is a spec is a spec and within is within I don't believe in this middle of the spec crap. I would think even is the best plus on the tight side I'm getting a little more duration.
Inside of engine looks like new use Castrol Actevo 2500 mile changes if it makes any diff.
Lots of grime after all those miles
Not sure if anyone cares but I decided to bump the engine over with a starter button using the solenoid as apposed to pulling the cover off the engine
Did some research and found the relay responsible and probed the yel/red wire. It worked!
So that's my story its worth the effort to do it yourself if possible. Thinking about re-using the gaskets they feel soft still. Probably change plugs and for sure change oil after.

its alot easier to remove and install valve cover when you remove the right front motor mount

Bad it really wasn't that much to remove just a little wiggle action. If you remove the motor mount don't you have to replace the bolts?

No. They are not rod bolts.
