BMW's crappy timing
BMW website pushes the BMW as the new generation of dragbike. All that R&D and all the hype to realease it right when motorcycle drag racing is going down the tubes. AMA dragbike kicked the bucket which is where they wanted to spotlight it. Here locally I have not seen one person with one. matter of fact we have zero turnout anymore. I guess everybody has just dropped out or it's too hot. There is a big event a Steele Alabama in a few weeks. I see what that looks like. Could this be a dragracing recession? I'll throw my stuff in the corner and ride the Harley till if comes back because the bikes sure are not worth anything right now. It's funny. I don't even get a hit on my sportbikes but at bike night I turned down $8500 for my Road King. Go figure.

The people buying H-D are the "Older" riders that can afford a bike, kids are grown, etc.
It's just to Hot......104 in Fort Worth today. Yes the economy is hurting and Sport Bikes, Boats and other toys are the first to go for a "Family Man" Things will get better.

Drag racing is damn near dead around here and it's not just bikes ... Last Weds night we had a total of 20 people show up for test and tune ..Both of our tracks dropped prices form 22.00 bucks all the way down to 10.00 bucks ... Think about that , 10.00 bucks to race and only 20 people showed up !!! That is 200.00 bucks to staff 8 people , Clean and VHT the track .. They have to have a EMT on site before a car or bike runs down the track , the EMT complany gets 500.00 bucks for four hours . And lets not forget the.Lease of the track from the City , light bill and insurance ect ect ect ..
Just 2 years ago we would see 200+ cars and bikes plus humdreds of people watching on test and tune night and that was at 22.00 dollars a head...

Can you please post the link to BMW's site that is hyping the 1000RR track weapon as a drag bike?
Thanks

Who cares Stevie...
But its in Brocks advertisement with the long bike & SS bike with Keith Dennis...
Funny guys that buy 14s & Busas say they always bought their bike cheaper than anyone...
Then the BMW guys are proud to say they paid over $20 grand for a 1000...Kinda like the guys that buy Ducatis...

I'll hype it.
I watched Jeremy Teasley over the weekend in Indy take Brock's two BMW's down the track at the NHDRO:
stock wheelbase version: 8.91 @ i think around the mid-150s on mph
extended wheelbase: 8.47 at 163 mph
The times were impressive...I wasn't sure how good they were, but the look on Brock's face after each of those runs told the whole story.
