hp on stock injectors, modded motor and spray
after reading through the ace performance thread about a 2x2 motor Im strongly considering taking on a winter project, trying to get a feel on just how big a project its gonna be. now Id like to get a 2x2 that will run on pump gas and be able to take a lot of now (wet with race fuel) and be reliable. thoughts so far have been run stock compression pistons, h beams, have the head ported and milled, hd springs, hd studs, remove counter balance's oil pressure mods with a flat pan for extra oil, second fan to keep her cool on the street. my question would be how reliable such setup would be and would it be safe to have it tuned, run a 80-100 wet shot on it and still start on one battery/ have a street map to run on 93.
also was thinking of what to do with electronics, I know a lot of racers do not use the ignition module but run the msd box to pull timing. It would be wise to use a good progressive controller, either nos mini or use a 2 dial with wot switch and rpm shutoffs as safety. so the question would be run the pc3 that i already have in it with all these other electronics or switch to the pc5 for dual maps without the hub or wait and see how this hacked ecu thing works out to run a lot of these controls all in one box, any input would be appreciated

o was also wondering if upgrading to a billet rail bigger injectors and an external fuel pump is also needed for this setup

you don't need an upgraded fuel system for a 2x2, with a wet shot.
you will need a low pressure fuel source for your wet shot.
when you say flat pan? you mean an adams billet pan? if so you'll need a side winder.
2nd fans are always a good idea, and a 2x2 will start on one battery. Hell my friends 3x5 with bigggg cams starts on one battery no problem.
Also stick with the PC3, and get the hub. You can get a WOT switch with RPM shutoffs via that and be able to switch maps if you want it to do that way.
I personally use the PC3, HUB, and Ignition module and my shifter all through the power commander with a dry shot.... works well. The NOS mini is nice because you can have it trigger map 2 when the spray starts, so until its spraying you are still on your motor map so the bike doesnt bog down.

ya I knew Id have to switch to the sidewinder, was planning on it anyway so I could take the baffle out while spraying, most wet kits Ive looked at come with another fuel pump so I would need to have my tank modded so I could tap into it, I was worried about fuel pressure dropping once the wet shot kicked in
I like the nos mine, heard some good things about it, pretty sure it has its own tps sensor as well so no external wot switch is needed

fbmbks,
Thank's for showing interest in our recently developed Zx15 package if you are interested
in having one built for NOS application I would be more than happy to discuss more about this project.
