Any high speed roll on with a liter bike gives up your advantage of much more torque. I can't see giving them more than a 20 mph roll just to take the clutch out of it. You have more cubes they have 100 less pounds and higher first gear and the same HP. If they want to brag go from down low.

I was on the stock BMW. You are off of your assessment against me. We went from 2nd gear at about 65. I was seeing 7500rpms when we hit it. You pulled out immediately and got 3 bikes within a gear change. Then at that point your pull pretty much stopped. You may have been slightly pulling but very hard to tell for sure. I would say 3-4 bikes at most. Being behind I have a better perspective on the race.
BTW, I weigh 80lbs more than 01smokes and look like a grape ape on a bicycle.
Anyhow, the BMW runs well when you get it past 9k but below that it is about the same as any other litre bike. It handles well certainly brakes very well.
We should have had 01smokes race the other rider on the stock BMW, then we could have had more data points that may or may not reflect what the rest of the world is seeing.

I thought that weight might be a factor. 80 lbs. is a HUGE difference.

the stock gen 1 with gear and the modded BMW went at it from a 5th gear roll on started about 70 i would guess, the gen1 speedo is off from the gearing. well we went at it and we stayed dead even till about 145-155ish than the BMW started a slow pull and kept pulling

we all agreed on the lengths when we got back to the dealership, i was just saying what we ALL agreed on, i looked back twice and saw more than 3-4 bikes but none the less the BMW is a fast bike. and ya it would have been nice to get to race the stock one with more equal weight riders.
Oh BTW turbobike i raced Cisco last night 55 roll till 160 and he got me by 5-6 and was still pulling when we shut them down i would have kept going but he was in front and shut down. i think it will be a good race with the BMW and the piped gen2

its hard to pull a gsxr 1000 (06 n up) on a rollon with the big bikes, power to weight is really a bitch during rollons, especially if the guy on the 1000 is 160 or lighter, lmao!, N if the bmw has more hp like it says compared to the gsxr's, then a roll on will be pretty impossible to beat.

Oh ya 80lbs is a big difference, but inst the booza weigh over 100lbs more, stock for stock? and the BMW makes more power stock for stock right? so on paper he should have still beat me right HP to weight ratio is still in favor of the BMW

Gears make up for some weight.....................for awhile. :-) on the street in 60 in 2nd gear my 14 is MUCH quicker with 16/43 than the stock 17/41. 2nd thru 6th until about 175. Re-gearing is cheapest way to make ANy bike quicker thru the gears than any pipe or map. I ride with several 14 and Busa's and I weight 240 suited. We all have pipes, maps etc. I had to keep adding gear to over come me being so tall and heavy. When they regear I am screwed like 1bad......leave the donuts alone lol :-) I need to loose 40 pounds to be even with the rest of the guys I street race. Or spend even more $$ on bigger engine..it never ends.......... :-)
Glad there are no BMW running around the DFW area.so far. Piss me off getting beat in 2nd at 60 by
a STOCK 1000 with a 200 pound rider. Seen some modded 1000's I would NOT race for $$.
