Hey Tommy... were you on m109riders.com by any chance? TNT on here used to have a 109 and we hung out over there quite a bit. I still drop in from time to time to listen to the complete bullshit that those guys spew lol. The 109 was a pretty cool bike for a cruiser. It just sucked at the strip because of it's wide tire and shaft drive. It would still run 7.4's in the 1/8th bone stock though.

Sure was Craig. I really liked the big cruiser but the shudder that manifested in it after 4k miles was unexceptable and Suzuki would not step up to the plate as they were doing in Australia. Mine cracked the secondary housing and after paying a $650 repair bill I drove it straight to the Kawasaki stealer and swapped for my Atomic silver ZX-14! I heard Suzuki has new part numbers for the driveline on the M109, maybe it is okay now. I loved how the big boy sit and handled and run and I may get another one if convinced it is fixed but I shall probably always have a rocket in the garage as well! BTW, both my boys live in San Diego.

Yeah, dad was always afraid he was going to bust the driveline out of his. I'm trying to get him to come out to san diego with his 14 before I transfer next year. You should talk him into car pooling so that you can go ride the twisties out there and he can drag race lol. Are your boys in the military? I'm stationed in coronado.

I had the hots for a Rune until I absolutely destroyed a youngster in Burleson on his modified one with my new 06 M109r Suzuki. I thought he would stomp me, his sounded like a pro stock sittin' at the light and he had a scitte eatin' grin as he looked over mine but when that light changed and we hit it, as I was finishing 2nd, he was close to a 100 yds back and I kept pulling away! I felt bad for whippin' him so bad. We talked later and he was a good kid and he said that was the fastest cruiser he had ever seen and he had 3 times the money in his. I still would kinda like to have a Rune but it would have to be boosted some way or else I would be disappointed with it pretty fast.

I wouldn't buy a Rune for the speed. I just like the design.

If I had to have a fast cruiser, I would get the Vmax. That will handle an M109, for sure.

I agree Shane, as well it should but that new V-Max would have to be physically altered quite a bit for my liking and then you would probably have about double the money in it as the M109. I really liked my M109 for the 15K miles I had it but the shudder was annoying. I almost took it to an engineer in Arkansas who would have bullet proofed the driveline and boosted the hp to around the 150 area for about $5000 but I was so po'd over Suzuki droppin' the ball after me buying their products for 40+ years that I chose to spend $2500 and get the new ZX-14 which is pure comfort to ride compared to my slammed Busa...I love them both for different reasons!

Craig is really Chad.... I met his Dad, TNT at Dallas raceway a few weeks ago, met Lucky and Wee there too. Several others.... we need to take your Busa there and have Wheelie show us how to launch and set it up.

Curise over this week end on the Silver 14 and lets go for a ride.no speeding tickets this time......:-)
