Can't wait for a T&T was 215lbs now 183

Well I'm just itiching to run again thought it would be tonight but it's raining here again. between the rain and a race day I have not been in the mode where I try to run fast for awhile now. I was 215 lbs and I'm down to 183 and still dropping. I think I can hit 179

You sound like you're losing weight too fast. Unless your doing it right you'll end up being skinny fat. The majority of the weight you're losing is muscle weight. Which is why it's dropping so fast. It's good you're losing weight but doing it right is more important. I lost some weight really fast like that before and I ended up being skinny fat. I think you'd be in for a reality check if you went to the gym. No strength. I finally got all my muscle back and then some.

That's a nice drop. It must feel good not to be carrying around that extra weight.

Good Deal There Bently.... It has to feel good having some of that weight off you.. Sounds like its time to sell the Busa and get a ZX14 to reap the benefits..j/k
I'm gaining weight and I can feel it. I was 185 last year this time and as of this morning I'm 194... I gotta work harder at eating better and getting more exercise in.

On another note the rain looks like its gonna come this way tonight and cancell out or night at the track as well. It aint looking good as far as weather across the midwest..

I hope you do better than me. I was 240 unsuited and got down to 168....it didnt make a damn bit of differance! I rode better when I was heavier. I'm thinking the set-up of my bike was to blame...I had it set-up for "fat guy" and not "skinny guy".

Your actually dead wrong, getting stronger each week as well. bench is up from 205 to 225. majority of weight I've lost is belly fat. went from a tight 34 jean to a loose 32. it's all in eating.

All in what I stuff in my mouth. cut out all soda, if I crave a soda I have a low carb monster energy because it's only 20 cals and 6 grams of sugar and I usally have two a week. I've not skipped breakfast since trying to lose weight. I eat lots of fruit and veggies and make smoothies. I eat 5 times a day basically 3 hrs apart. And for a quick on the go lunch or supper I use a slim fast shake. cut out all chips etc. for supper I eat what ever I want just the right portion. while I've been losing this weight I've even smoked ribs, brisket, and pork shoulders it's my 2nd hobby. but instead of stuffing myself I learned when to stop and get up and 5 minutes later you realize your full. don't sound like much but I do 20 push ups every night before bed and every morning when I get up. which is why stated in above post my bench has went up, then I do some dumbell work 3 times a week. I'm not out to get huge from working out just stay in shape and maintain my muscle I have.

Ya the first 3 or 4 weeks where tuff not wanting alot of the garbage I was eating. I'm on my feet 9 to 10hrs a day lifting heavy parts at work and I can't explain how much easier it is to make it thru a day being that much lighter. I have so much more energy at the end of the day. people just don't know how bad all this processed food and meals in a box are for you.

Well please do tell how I can get up to those grueling 20 push ups before bed? Do 20 pushups with one arm and I'd be impressed. You like drag racing. I like pushing my body to the max for fun. I am 175lbs solid as a rock. I choose to be this weight. I could lose more or gain more just depending on where I want to be. Just giving you a little advice.

Once again your just an ass and someone who has no post with any good input.. but it don't surprise me. Someone asked how I dropped the weight and I told them. I'm not out to get big or impress someone with my gun show. I have a wife and kids and race and work I don't have time or care to be in a gym for 1 to 2 hrs 5 days a week. if you do fine. you want be a dick about me doing 20 push ups twice a day go ahead. Lets see I'm in better shape then 80% of the over weight country we live in. I'm 183 and can bench 225 can do 57 push ups in a minute that's well above average. and you have no clue what percent body fat I have. more and more evey day this board is filled with ignorant mouthy internet tough guys that would never say half the shit they do to someones face as what they type. guess they are lacking something in there life, really fuks up a good board. I won't reply to another post you make rocky.

Hey it's the Internet tough guy. People talk shit. It's all in fun. I do this to pass time at work and I take none of it too serious. I hope you don't either. Glad you lost some weight. It's tough to do when there is a fast food place on every corner and every other commercial is a pizza ad. That's an accomplishment by itself.

hey oilfieldtrash... If you're into fitness, you should check out some of the sealfit workouts. They're not that bad on paper, but man are they a kick in the taint when you're actually doing them. If you lift a lot, it'll be a good change in intensity.

There's a good benchmark workout that I do to see where I'm at that is called "angie". I'm just now getting back into the swing of things after my back injury that happened in early february. I've been working out again for 3 weeks now and this week I did it to see where I fall. Here's the work out.

WIth a running clock do 100 pull ups, 100 push ups, 100 sit ups (nothing to hold your feet), and 100 squats (no weight). Finish each workout in that order as fast as you can for time. My time this week was 23 minutes and 59 seconds, so you have something to shoot for. Like I said, I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things so i'm not really that competitive right now. Anything below 20 minutes is above average.

If you like these kinds of workouts, I have a ton of them that I can start posting up in the smackhouse or I can e-mail them to you. The days of only weight training are long gone. Crossfit/sealfit is the future .

Good for you Bently. Whether it makes you faster or not doesn't matter, it's got to be healthier. I manage to keep my weight down to around 180, I only go to the gym to weight train around twice a week in the evenings and on a Sunday morning, when my neighbours are still in their beds, I cycle for an hour. Being fit and feeling energetic and healthy makes it totally worthwhile.

I do half and half weight training/cardio. I like biking (bicycle), running, playing basketball, and weight training. I'll have to try that "Angie" test. How do you do the pull ups? Palms facing you? I'd knock out the pushups and squats easy just the pull ups and sit ups would take a little while. Sounds like a fun ass test. You could post up some stuff in smackhouse and maybe some other guys will chime in.

Not ( always ) true.........back in '98 I went from 325lbs to 205lbs inside of 8 months via diet and exercise.........I ate 5 or 6 snacks a day and drank tons of water at work, then I'd go home and ride my mountain bike for 3 or 4 hours a day, 3 or 4 days a week and lifting the other days........never got weaker -- in fact all it did was burn a bunch of fat and build up my lean muscle mass........best regiment is to alternate cardio and weight lifting with a low fat, low carb diet.........of course, this is dependent on what you're trying to accomplish........but I was instructed to do this by 2 different trainers -- and it worked like a charm. Felt like I was 18 again and like I was on springs.......only slept 5 or 6 hours a night because of my metabolism and energy level increase........definitely enjoyed life a lot more.

Anyway, congrats Bently!! Keep it up man! it's certainly a lifestyle more than a simple change

Great job Bently don't worry bout what he's saying. Its about what works for you. Everyone is telling me the same thing. I've been taking Muay Thai 5 times a week for three months. Went from 240 to 207 today. I wanna get down to 185 people are like man your gonna look sick. The thing is I think they are just used to seeing me fat. Hell I'm 5'8 185 is what i supposed to be or close to it. When they see me now they are like damn boy you're looking good keep it up. Dropping fat and gaining lean muscles. I am going to the track tonight to see if i see any difference in run times. As long as you like what you see when you look at yourself thats all that matter. Keep it up man peace.
