Bike dies after warming up

I have an 08 SE and in the morning before I take off, I let it warm up, I will leave when the RPMS drop to around 1000 rpm , the last few times, it starts to stumble when the rpms drop and eventually dies, I can start it right up, and after I ride this does not happen, should I just adjust the idle?

1000 rpm is a little low, try 1200 rpm. a higher idle will also help oil pressure.

ok I will try raising the idle, this is how it was set from the factory after warming up it would always drop down to a little under 1000 rpm.
Thanks for you advice`

stumbling doesn't sound like a low idle problem, you have a aftermarket pipe and pc?

Then it was set wrong cause when the bike is warmed up it the FSM says the idle should be 1000 +100 rpms.
So like above 1000.

Well he says it stumbles when the rpm's drop. It makes sense for the engine to stumble if it's idling too low cause the engine wants to keep running but can't run too low and will tend to stumble before it shuts off.
Now if he means it stumbles while the idle is still high cause of the cold start then dies cause of it then that is a completely different problem.

Mine hovers around 1100ish rpm. Idles smooth as a Lexus.....well besides that loud exhaust noise.

yeah it stumbles when it gets to low in the RPM's , I have no aftermarket parts on the bike yet. its just strange that it has started to do this now after 8k+ miles, though it seems the idle has creeped down a little lower than it was before which was just under 1000. I will have to take a look at the manual tomorrow and see how to adjust it to 1100 after warmup.

How many miles on the bike? Is it low on coolant?

check and adjust your throttle cable free play, and adjust the idle for 1000 rpm warm.
Mine would idle smooth even as low as 850-900 when I was adjusting it, but thats not good for the valvetrain, oil pressure and flow is too low.

Mine liked the spark plug change after 8000 miles too. ran much smoother. Others wil debate this statement to death, but thats what I found.
I also liked running sea foam through it every oil change to clean out the combustion chambers and injectors

ok so yesterday I got the chance to adjust my idle and this morning when I started her up and the idle settled down, she stayed running, I had set it around 1100. I am 900 away from 10k miles I will change the plugs then, oil and put seafoam in . Thanks for your advice. Dubious, did you use any special or different spark plugs? Or just what Kawa calls for?
