first ticket on the 14

i've had this bike for 4 years and haven't had a ticket untill yesterday. not for speeding or doing a wheelie or something like that but for riding at 25 mph (posted speed) with my visor up! he wrote me a ticket for no eyewear and then rode off on his harley with just prescription glasses covering his eyes. i know i was in violation but that guy is still a f-n tool. it was almost 90 degrees out, i was in full gear and was just getting some air less than a block from the house on my way home from an 11 hour day at work. needless to say i was pissed

Damn........that sux..........I've been warned about it because the cop understood it was due to the heat, but the last couple years I tend to wear shades under my visor so I can flip it up anytime I feel the need. Btw, how much was the tic?

I was just talking earlier about how many police are on the alert to enforce violations. Revenue ya know? Not just more moving violations but also more inspection spot checks.

Ohio just made a law this week that officers can give you a ticket if you LOOK like you're going fast! Yes...just like you read! Bullshit! Trained officers can ticket you by making a personal estimate of how fast they thought you were going. No radar involved!

Hell is coming in Ohio. People are pissed!

Wait what? In what state is having your visor open illegal? Ive never heard of such a thing in Cali, i ride in the summer months on the street with the visor open and ive never been hassled. I have been hassled for tinted visors at night though, but no tickets.

Yeah, I think it's the law everywhere?? If you have your visor up all the way you must have on eye wear for protection!! Then again i could be wrong. I usually ride with mine open a few clicks but never open fully unless stopped or talking to another rider.

That's a non-traffic violation thought right? It shouldn't raise your insurance or anything. That sucks though. I would be pissed if some cop screwed with me about a visor.

This is news to me and I'm an "Ohioan"........if that's the case, I won't hesitate to go to court over that.........but I really don't like that one bit.........there's way too much room for "human error" or simply "rocket hating cops" to really put it to the public if they feel the urge.

If that becomes the case in Ohio, my StreetMeg won't pass even with the noice reduction plug in.........and I REALLY REALLY don't want to put my stock system back on

It's funny how many states don't mandate helmets but yet enforce eyewear? I mean god for I'd you get something on your eye but it's ok to have a smashed watermelon on the highway.

No doubt........baffles me as well........guess they figure a bug in your eye will affect other drivers safety, but it's perfectly legal to hit the ground without head protection.

This isn't good to hear, I am set to transfer to Virginia Beach, VA and I am use to the lax laws out here in San Diego. But it will still be good to be back on the right coast.

I got a ticket for the shield up. sitting at a light in pouring down rain (fogged up while not moving) I pulled away on the green and popped it down shifting 2nd. A cop pulled me over with his gun and chalk out The ticket was the same as NO helmet or eye protection. We just got away with triple speeds most of the day. So I "let him" give that one to me. Of course I took it to court and waisted their time. judge lowered it to $20 pffft. I'm suprised cops haven't cracked down on every detail for income.

As far as I know it is not illegal up here in Ontario…

However 31MPH over will cost you your license and your bike for 7 days and upon conviction a huge fine minimum 2K but up to $10,000, and for a first offence up to a 2 year license suspension (2nd offence 10 years)….

And if you are cruising along at the posted speed limit and happen to have nitrous on the bike (not using it just have it), jump right back to the penalties above.

Having said that as far as I know as long as you have a helmet on you are OK… almost makes you want to @#$%^

Also, Beavercreek is busting motorcycle DB level as well nowadays. That was big news about 2 weeks ago. They're looking for bikes with loud exhausts.
