As said before, DJ hp is not true hp. So many variables on a sweep test, inertia dyno.
Steady state/ eddy current dyno is the only way to get true hp. Or just take the dj hp and knock 20% from it.

For somebody who is supposedly laying down the truth about dyno's ... you missed the point.

I was making a post about COMPARATIVE horsepower. I dont care if XYZ dyno said I made 100hp on a ZX14 and the BMW made 110 on the same dyno. That is still 10% more HP comparatively speaking.

Also, there is not a single dyno I'd give a flying fugg about for accurate numbers. What I need is a dyno that give me good consistent numbers. That way the dyno becomes a tool for me to use to determine of mods and adjustment i have made yield a net positive or negative result without having to go to the strip each change.

Nobody really cares about owning a dyno queen except for squids and fan boys. I need to know if that mapping I created yields more or less HP on the same dyno, if the 520 conversion got me 1hp or 5 hp gain etc ...

Dyno's are for baselines only, thats why dyno hopping is bad.

Missed the point, huh? Go back and read my posts. I really couldn't give a rats ringpiece about how much power this dyno says or that one says, but Dynojet numbers are inflated and always have been. If you want an outrageous hp number use a dynojet. If you want a real number use a real dyno.
Although, using the same dyno with the same operator, same conditions, it's still a tool to determine if you've gone in the right or wrong direction with mods.
A steady state Dyno is still a much better tool, and not to mention it's way easier on the machine being tested. That's a fact.

ps. On a real dyno, the 14 and busa still make more power

Actually, I started this topic by posting some information from one of the best in the business. It clearly proves that the numbers from some dyno systems are inflated and it also proves that the 14 and busa make more hp, even though they redline about 3000 rpm less but with tons more torque, which is what moves things anyway.

If you put the beemers engine in a busa or 14 sized chassis, it literally wouldn't get out of it's own way.

If you were to raise the torque peak on 14 or busa, which is easy enough as we all know, the hp numbers go up proportionately. Torque x RPM / 5252 = HP

Oh, by the way, since we're comparing apples and oranges, put a busa or 14 motor in a beemer sized chassis and it would leave the lil beemer like it was tied to a post

that mcn test was cool to watch, wish i had 4 different bikes to ride on the same day, @kawabonz, u did the 520 conversion? i was looking into that myself, i think they had a titanium chain or some shit that is never supposed to wear, sprockets n chain both, i think its Krause racing, they got a 530/520 conversion that supposedly has more tensile strenght than a 530 zzz chain
