I just remove the nut on the other side and take a punch and give it a light tap and unscrew it ...

What size socket do you use on the hex nut on the left side?
Does anybody have the tool for the slotted nut on the right side? I really don't want to pay $70.00 for a tool I am going to use once.

I did a swap for a guy last night. I think it was a 24mm on the left and you can make a tool from a 1-1/16 socket with a dremel tool.

Did you still torque the nut to 92 ft-lbs like the manual says? I didnt know if maybe they changed the torque specs due to the frame recall back in 2006.

The nut on the left side gets 82ft lbs. The right side adjuster screw gets 15lbs and the spanner nut gets 72lbs.

What size hex key is needed on the right side? It looks to be 14mm, but I am not sure. Thanks for all the help so far...

A front wheel chock and a jack under the oilpan. Tie the front end down to the wheel chock though.

Also if you have a engine hoist you could take the seat off and pick up the rear end that way.

I turned the front foot pegs upside down and used jack stands to hold the bike...it worked great.!
Thanks for all the info guys....I did the swap and I am good to go!
