No Engine I.D. ??

I bought 8 06 used GSXR 1000 engines from a local Road race team located outside Birmingham. I was told that all the motors were pulled because they were making a noise. They are complete with all electronics and covers. I was also told that they came from Suzuki in crates. When they mess up they just replace them. When I got them home on 4 of them they had just spit the shim out of the keeper. I simply pulled the cams lifted the bucket and put the shim back in the keeper. bolted it back together and it is good. one of the other ones has dropped a valve and the rest have spun a bearing. I got all 8 for $500 dollars. But not one of the motors has an engine I.D. on it. They have the casting where it goes but they have never been stamped. I wonder what's up with that. I do have a bill of sale for them. Now I have plenty of spare parts for the dragbike. Here is what the casting spot on the motor looks like .

+1 and some frames I've seen don't have #'s either.
