If my zx14 had all the mods Brock put on that beemer and had Ryan riding it i think it would run that number or damn close ..
Agreed, if you or 14 nooby(or another lightweight) added BST's and the 1 lbs battery you would come close..
It may run that number who knows but the fact is your comparing a litre bike to a big bore bike. Give the BMW some credit! And as far as lengh goes your comparing a 100lb heavier 14 to a lighter 1000. 1000s are difficult to race because of how light they are all they want to do is wheelie. After the stretch on a 14 and the BMW you have an even playing field except the -CC's! A how expensive a BMW is to buy and build?? really how much $$ have all of us put into our 14s ? You probably could have boughten 2 BMW's and Im not jumping on no BMW bandwagon here either i like my kawi way to much.

All of the above ....for most guys "considering" also their weight and overall street maners maintained in most ZX-14s which visit the dragstrip ; the 14 is the weapon of choice....
BMW had the power.....took the right rider and the expense to place that power on a dragstrip....too rich for most of us.....
The question remains how quick will a ZX-14 get with equal expense or ryan riding it for that matter??
The clutch on the 14 has to be more reliable as well I would think ....
Not taking anything away from the terrific results of brocks beemer....it is a remarkable 1000 cc BMW.....BMW has created some serious ripples in our dragracing waters.....lol
Nice!!!
God is good!!

Pretty cool. But can the average guy go fast on a bmw? I dont think so. Every1 knows that 1000s only run with a lightweight rider with a good clutch hand. The zx14 is the easiest bike to go fast on ive ever ridden. Love mine. Only would sell to get into a faster 14.

If you think a 1000 is more wheelie prone you are dead wrong. Also I personally find the litre bikes easier to ride.

The BMWs 9.10 @ 159 doesn't do much for me .. Yes the MPH is great but the ET so far doesn't match what Brock did with his 08 busa or his 06 zx14 ..MPH doesn't win races ET does .. Even if they get the BMW at stock wheel base and stock motor to match what Brocks Busa or his zx14 did at stock wheel base and stock motor it will just be a wash ..For a Busa or zx14 owner to jump ship to a BMW it would at least have to be a full tenth or two faster ..It's a cool bike but a Busa or zx14 is just a better start for a drag bike ..

my bad -- i though the bike ryan told me about was the ss bike -- i didn't watch the vid to see the stretch --- however i was told he rode teh same bike in supersport and they just shortened it up --and no i don't really follow brock so i haven't been updated with all the latest -- i just talked to ryan wednesday at the dyno and went with that info

That stock wheelbase number (9.10) is impressive considering ryan ran a 9.17 on a muzzy piped SWB ZX14 when they first came out..... Did the SWB beemer have a aftermarket or stock pipe on it?
Also remember the wheelbase is shorter on the beemer...

It was the same Beemer that went 8.49 .. Brock just put it back to stock wheel base and removed the quick shifter ...But it still had all the other mods ..
Remember Brocks Busa and his ZX14 had the same mods as the Beemer and went faster ..

I watched Dragbike live and saw him race another one also. If I am not mistaken Ryan lost in SET to the other BMW.

Per dragbikelive.com......Ryan is ok and back at the track arm is in a sling but is ok. Said the front just washed out right when he went to 3rd gear.
