this bike is setup for supersport -- i don't think it has any of that fancy stuff you guys are talking about -- it should be stock wheelbase footshifting. Ryan dynod my bike wednesday and he said brock was pumped about the power and decided not to test early cuase he was sure the bike would put down the numbers.

I dynoed a S1000RR 2 weeks ago, it hit the rev limiter @ 14,100 rpm. Hitting the rev limiter in 6th gear showed a potential top speed of 187.3. We just had a Beemer run last sunday in our 9/10's races, it hit 185 on the gps, prolly will go all the way but the race is only 9/10's long. I'll try to find out if they have gone a further distance and what mph they saw.

A friend of mine in Beaumont owns a zx10 that was Ryan's and if my memory is correct I think it ran close to mid 8's with Ryan on it. It is a nice scoot. I just left a message for him to call me about it.
Edit: He just told me that Ryan ran 8.60's on the 10.

so where are all the naysayers now? LOL Not suprised at this at all. Just have to see how durable it's going to be now...
BMW have raised the bar BIG TIME for liter bikes. Can't wait to see what Japan counters with.

I still think it remains to be seen what an equally prepped Japanese 1000 would do with Schnitz on it. Also, locally the BMW made only 8 more hp than a 2008 10R...so that is not going to give you .2 or whatever. Certainly doesn't make you want to spend $15k otd.
Let's see what they do in the hands of local racers, that will really tell the story. I'm sure they will go fast, but will they dominate the Suzuki's? Drag racing is about a lot more than peak power, as we all know.

these bikes won't end up in local racers pits...just too damn expensive to start if you ask me.

The real news here is that this motor is bone stock with the bike set up very well.....
No liter bike will match it with equal prep. Motor work potential has yet to be seen...won't be cheap though.

+1 The bmw will be like a Honda CBR , R1 and Vmax , hardly ever seen at the drag strip.

Is that bike prepped with exhaust, etc. also? The mph is great! I watched and got video of what was apparently a full Supersport 10R go 9.12@160..and that was with Richard Gadson on it:
For a stock motor 1000 to run those #'s...amazing. I'd like to see some pics and vids of the swb bike, for sure.
I can't wait to see one of these run in person!
