Gas mileage going down? Why?

Noticed my gas mileage is comin down sligtly? Would the advancer have most of the blame for that? Notced that the overlay of my Rickey G custom map is richer then the Brock's street map. Mileage went from 36.5 mpg to about 32? Somebody explain.

I just got mine tuned and he actually took fuel out of the brocks map... Maybe the extra fuel.

Is that actually calculated mileage or is the dash board calculated.

My bike's on board calculator used to be slightly optimistic i.e. it would read 40 when actually it got around 38.

After I put the power commander on and built a very efficient street map it went waaay the other way. I.e. now the dash reads 37 and I actually get 43.

I've never bothered with the "race" map but I bet it's even wierder yet.

In a nutshell, I believe the power commanders confuse the stock ECU in regards to stuff like this.

My dash reads avg. 29-30. When I got it it was 37, I never could figure how he got it that high 'cause I sure can't ( bad wrist, bad).

When I had the bike originally tuned Rickey made the map on his dyno at his shop in Jersey that since closed. I drive past the building now and its a frickin cash for gold place. That really sucks. But anyway the map was for my old muzzy exhaust that I bought back in 06. It ran good, but the Alien Head with his street map does feel better, according to my ass dyno that is.

Guys,

Power is made by burning more fuel…it’s just that simple. If you want increased fuel mileage and you own a Brock’s Performance exhaust—install the street map we sent you when you filled out your map support request. If you want to go as fast as possible, Install the track map—but don’t expect the best mileage and yes there will be a bit of extra soot on the tip. There will also be: quicker elapsed times, harder acceleration, the ability to get the gas open quicker without the chance of bogging and more MPH at the strip. The choice is yours…we give you both options when you request your maps.

Best of luck.

Brock,I do have the street map insalled since its primarily used for the street. I know the Alien Head is flowin better then my old muzzy. The advancer at 4 degrees I guess would use up more fuel right? There are fresh plugs and a cleaned BMC that was just done. If losin about 4mpg per gallon is what to be expected with the recent mods I guess for the extra power?

You guys might try the injector cleaner Brocks sells -- it does help with mpg as well as smoother power delivery. A clean injector is a happy injector!

Try owning a high hp car! I got about 30-35mpg when I rode it on the street, and it didn't bother me one bit. It's an excellent value if you think about it! High hp cars get 10mpg. That starts to get expensive.

Its like banging horrors without a rubber and being surprised you got something. Buy a Ninja 250 if you want good fuel mileage. I can't believe it took Hellmutt as long as it did to plug Brocks. You are sleepin on the job Hellmutt Brock would be an angry man.

Your right I'll just trade it in ona 250. I'm just wondering how much the fuel is effected by the increase in timing. I'm not really sweatin the mileage, I just wanna know because I must know eveything unless I wouldn't be me.
