getting off track prep
Anyone have a special product that will get the track prep/rubber off of the rear fairing/light. I've never had a problem, but this is like napalm. WD-40 doesn't even work.

Let it be a day or two and rub it off with a dry cloth.

I've heard spraying the undertail with pam before going to the track helps..... never tried it myself.

Your local Dodge dealer sells an excellent tar and bug remover, much better than anything I have got from auto parts store. Local speedshop should have a product called Burn-out Guard that will let rubber wash off easy for you.

Yes and dirt trackers use WD-40 before the race. Mud and rubber does not stick s bad.
messy if in a hurry after races,WD-40 on a old towel cleans the under tail.

WD-40 is an AWESOME cleaner. Eagle 1 makes a good bug and tar remover too

No, my friend. This wasn't your normal stuff. The track was horrible for quite awhile, then they prepped with some sort of new stuff for a big event. After I ran a few, my buddy (who's 16 yr old son just ran a 7.94) came up and told me I was going to have a real problem getting that stuff off of the back light and fairing. I waited a week, I tried several cleaners, then went to the big dog...WD-40. This stuff laughed at WD. Subsequent track days, I have taped it, but I'll try some of the other suggestions.

If you're feeling brave, try a little kerosene on a soft cloth and first try rubbing an inconspicuous spot -- i've had to use it on a painted plastic surface in the past and seems to work without harm to the paint, but I didn't rub it in deep or leave it on the paint long before washing it off really well. I know you just don't want to use anything too viscious or the paint/clear coat will disappear right before your eyes.
