Tuff night at the drags ....

The hole crew headed down to BMP for some 1/4 mile action .. BMP had an all bike night ..NO damn cars !!!! Spring is over here in FL , temps in the mid 80s and the humidity was very high... If we could have done this just one week ago we could have had some killer air to run in .. The DA to night was around 1500 feet compaired to a few weeks ago at 300 feet ...We didn't check the DA later in the night but with fog rolling in it could only gotten worse as the night went on .... We also had a nasty head wind coming off the Gulf that just would not go away ..Everybody was fighting to get a good MPH .. To make things worse the MPH from lane to lane was off by 4 to 6 MPH .. I ran the best of 154.89 to a worse of 148 depending on the lane and the head wind ..I'm not sure how much my ET suffered ..
My best pass of the night set a new best for me at stockwheel base .. My record was 9.18 @ 152 , I was able to run the best of 9.11 and had a few 9.15s as well as a 9.13 .. I never had anything better than a 1.50 60 foot all night ... I think my best 1/8 mile number was 5.90 flat @ 124 and change .. Most of the runs were high 123s ...

All in all it was still a good night because i did go faster at stock wheel base than i ever had before on either of my zx14s .. I had hoped to run a 9.0X.X and i tried as hard as possible to make it happen but no luck ...My 9.11 came on my very last run before the track closed .. I'll scan the ticket and post it Sat when i get back from a car show i'm going to ..

This was on pump gas so i guess i'm going to have to try some MR9 to get any lower than 9.11 ..

Good job smoking! 1500ft of air is still pretty decent. you air is almost like ours here. once may hits here we our usally in the high 1800 to 2000 ft then it get worse in july and aug. I'm guessing that's why we don't see the mph here as alot of guys run.

We didn't have good air last night either. Track was horrible. Ran 7 psi in rear and it would spin and hop and just act plain crazy on top of 1/8 mile. Best was 5.79 with new tune from Chris jones. Rainwas comming in and it being in High 80's wasn't the perfect day

The bike ran great .. I don't know if the injector helped because i had no base line 1/4 miles runs on this bike to compair with ...Last time i ran this bike at stock wheel base was when i first got the bike a year and a half ago .. My best back then was 9.32 @ 148 ..

Great job, Lee. What makes this bike illegal for SS? The reason I ask is that it seems like you would be right in the hunt with some good gas...and your motor is untouched.

Can you run a shifter of any kind in SS?

Shane i'm not setting it up for SS class , i'm just seeing how fast i can go at stock wheel base ... No you can't run a air shifter in SS ...

I would need a few more things to run SS .. Wheel bearings , A true SS motor build 207 HP, Tuned for XXX118 fuel .. Non oring chain , 0w oil .. Worse part would be to add 20 pounds to make the 680 pount weight rule ..

There was a true SS bike with us last night that has run 8s but last night his best was 9.05 at 151 ..

The kind of shifter I was curious about was just running kill wired into the horn button..no air system at all. Like a Quickshifter, more or less....but you just punch the horn button and use your foot.

Still, very, very impressive for a stock motor swb bike...and I'm sure you will find a little more and get that 9.0x.

Bike has to be foot shifted , no kill box tricks or anything like that .. Even the new BMW has to remove its quick shifter to be legal ..

To get a 9.0 is going to take some good air and MR9 like Brock did on his bike .. At this point i just don't know what i want to do next .. Summer is here and the numbers will only get worse from now till fall ..

XXX 118 is 20+% oxygen by weight ,,, must have a really high ethanol content. I think E85 is 33% by weight.
