What's on your chain?

I've been partial to Maxima chain wax for the last 7 or 8 years -- it doesn't fling off after the initial warm and lube process and it tacks up nice to stay on the chain after it's hot........which is one of the biggest reasons I got hooked on it since I had chrome wheels at the time and every little drop showed horribly. Tried a couple other brands/styles back in the earlier 2000's but after finding the Maxima wax, haven't gone back to anything else. Used to always use kerosene to clean up the drive too, recommended by quite a few riders and dealerships for cheap, safe chain cleaner.....until I found tirox - it's easier to work with and doesn't splatter everywhere when you scrub the chain. So, what do you all prefer??

WD-40 clean up, and Belray super clean. I like the fact that it's white so you can see any spots that you miss

I've got PJ-1 at home ( not sure which type or label though ) for the dirtbike, but it flung all over my nice clean silver wheels when I tried on the rocket........so i gave it up for street -- dirtmachine I don't care that much if it's greasy or dirty

I've been using Dupont Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax Lubricant for awhile now. It outlasts any of the former motorcycle chain lubes I used & I get it at Lowe's for about 4~5 bucks. Unless you really spray it on thick it doesn't fling either. Also because it's essentially dry it doesn't pick up grit.

I swear by cheap (less then 2 dollars a gallon) on paint thinner! Cleans great, doesnt hurt paint and most importain-dosent hurt rubber( its inside your chains) try soakng a rubber seal in WD40 over night. After clean take air gun and blow out chain to have a clean/dry canvas.

Then use a good quality chain wax and spray ONLY on the inside part of the chain and wipe with a rag on the sides of the chain with the wax. Let it roll for one min and let sit while you have a beer or two. Now its good to go.

After the first ride, there should be some residue on the rim. Wipe and ride another day.

If you rub your finger on the inside chain and you dont feel wax, then you need to lube again.

A clean/lubed chain will keep your sprokets from wearing down the teeth more so than the chain. Dont forget to check chain tention from time to time.

Just my two cents...
