The turbo was timed the quickest run of a prodution bike but I think the v-65 knocked it down a notch when it's turn came around.

I had one. I remember playing with the actuator rod on the waste gate and adjusting to get max boost. If memory serves me correct, at 12.2 lbs of boost the fuel injection delivery shut down. Happened once to me between 130-140 and almost tossed me over the bars! It was totally a lucky save. The bike flippen ripped! ( for the day) It was a hinge though in the twisties at pace. Great bike.

I worked in a turbo shop in the 80's and we were constantly getting calls for the turbo because someone would grenade theirs. There were no parts available as kaw only sold complete turbo assemblies. The Kaw dealer directly across the street would sell a replacement for around $1400! Big, big money in those days..

WOW! Big money for sure in those days. One of my buddies worked for ATP back in the day. Man, I remember helping him with some exotic stuff for the day. These guys turbo'd just about every bike you could think of at the time!
