There was no KZ1000 in 76. 77 was the first year for it. It may be a 76 kz900 with a 1000 motor. Regardless, running or not it is worth buying with a good title. I cant post pics of my 77 here but it is one beautiful bike.

OK, somewhat on-topic ..........
I claim to have owned a 1977 KZ900.
Wheelie says I'm nuts - had to be a 76 if it was a 900.
kawasakijockey just said that 77 was the first year for the 1000.
That supports Wheelie's thinking.
So, am I nuts or what?

Cycle magazine 10.99 in the 1/4 mile back in the day when it came out I remember this very well.
I know that doesn't seem like much now but back then that was fast for a stock production bike.

I remember that magazine very well it was at my high school library . It was in the early 80's and that's what it said on the cover as I drooled on it.

ive got the 1978 Cycle Guide, the Z1-r got beat by the CBX, GS-1000, and the XS-11. a 78 Z1-r will not run close to a 10 second 1/4

Well we cant believe everything I read but I do remember seeing that . So who really did have the first production bike to break into the 10's back in the day?

V-65 1100 I remember those they were fast but wasn't a sport bike maybe that's what the mag meant .
