My understanding is that all you have to do is go about 180 MPH and the engine will be producing 203 HP due to ram air charging. At least that's what the factory propaganda claims.

Most people think that polishing a head helps with the flow but it really does nothing at all.Its all in the shape that makes it flow.Even some nascar heads have dimples in certain locations in the port for better flow.its not only the size but but the shape thats inportant

From what I've been told, polishing can help in some cases. The reason is that it reduces the size of the boundary layer, in essence increasing the size of the port.

All that being said, a good cylinder head can get you there reliably. Contact Y2KZX12R, or go to http://www.competitioncnc.com.

Big cams are Hard on valve guides. Street bike that I wanted to last 30,000 miles I

would pass on Big Cams. Multi angle vale jobs seldom last as long as stock on high

milage street engines too. Tried all this years ago on FJ1200, still have it :-)

the super sport bikes make over 200 without port work, but if you hit the limiter it's trash

And at 15.5:1 compression ratio they do not make good street bikes!

Its True, our Supersport zx14 Head can make 206 RWHP on a DJ250.
However, it is a very high compression engine and will need race fuel anytime its run under a load. So it would be expensive to run it on the street. Rickeys Bike made 206 at Daytona.

The supersport head on a GSXR1000 will make well over 190 RWHP on a dj250.

Personally, if you want reliability with 200hp......just throw a 30 shot on your stock motor and use it whenever you want it. There's some guys here that's done it and seems to keep the bike streetable with little to no problems mechanically.
