Picked up a different kind of Sportbike this week

Well Harley Davidson calls it a Sportbike. It's a 2000 model Superglide sport twin cam 88 C.I. Harley Davidson. 2200 miles on it. I got it from a guy that needed to sell. $4900 cash. It's got some slip on pipes and needs to be jetted but runs out really well. it actually has adjustable suspension front and rear. The all black got me so I bought it. It will leave some really nice long black marks from a dead stop. Not fast like a 14 but still fun, It's a great bike to ride back and forth to work on until I get tired of it and then trade/sell it off for something. It had a small windscreen and a sissy bar on it but I took them off.

Twin cams don't leak oil.... I am going to take it with me to the track tomorrow just to see what it will do in the 1/8th. I like all bikes I am not model specific. A good deal is a good deal. I might even be able to make a buck off of it. Who knows. the 45 degree V-twins do have a nice sound.in a V-twin way.

Nice bike, but that's some funny stuff... Saying Sport Bike and referring to a Hardley is a good one, my ribs hurt from laughing.
You should be able to turn it for a decent profit at the price you bought it for.

I put it on the local Craigslist today for $6900 I had one guy come look at it already and two more lined up to take a look at it. I turned $6500 down from the first guy. I have had a large number of calls on it so I don't want to take the first offer. Looks like I might be able to turn a little profit off of it. Maybe I can hold out for $6700 or $6800.

Not for that bike, harley or not probably still worth 7500.00 to 9000.00. How many miles where on it?

2200 I think the market is still soft. If I can get $6700 for it then I am going to pick up a Green 09 14 that is for sale locally for $6900 with less than 2K on it. It has slip on Yosh pipes and I will ditch them. Here in the South the weather is getting better. Like them or not the H-D brand carrys a really good re-sale. They have not changed that much over the years. I really like them. It's all the fake ass riders that buy them that look like a bunch of retards that dress up in all the H-D gear and ride down to the local Bike night to "play" biker and then stick them back in the garage. Me and a friend rode ours to Bike Night last thursday night. When the crowd was clearing out I saw a bunch of riders dragging both feet for 10 to 15 feet while taking off. I looked at my Buddy and told him that's how you know a fake "biker" when you see that. I dropped the hammer on mine from a dead stop. Went between 2 cones sideways spinning the tire, both feet on the pegs. That comes from dirtbike and sportbike riding. I get bikes to ride them. I enjoy riding and find any excuse I can to ride. I ride my bikes to work even though I have a Toyota Carolla for a work car that gets as good of gas milage as some of my bikes and has air and heat. But I still prefer to ride. I just like bikes and I like to ride. Oh yea, the second guy that came to look at it tonight offered the same $6500. I turned him down too. He tried showing the cash and saying it was all he had and would be broke for another week until he got paid. I got a couple lined up for tomorrow to look at it.

It had sat up. I had to clean the carb and get a battery for it. I bought it before I ever heard it run. But it looked good and you can tell by the pictures it was in good shape. I was really glad to see that the tank was clean on the inside and had not rusted any. It's funny, it has a 40mm Mikuni carb on it. and there is no carb clamp on the intake, the breather bolts in the heads hold it to the intake rubber gasket. I used Honda polish and cleaner to clean it up. At least it did'nt bust into flames when the Honda Polish hit the paint As long as it turns a profit I am OK with it.

I test rode a v-rod last friday. I was kind surprised with the power. Only way I could afford it is if I trade in my 14, which ain't happening. Maybe I could find a used one for a reasonable price.

H-D use to coat the inside of the gas tanks. Been too long, don't remember when they started doing it. Buyers market, if it were me the next $6,500.00 cash is shown, take it.
Bike is worth more but in todays economy you may get a higher price...... just sayin

Good deal.
