Tim,
Are you ever going to bring your bike to the track? May 2nd is a Funday Sunday at the track in Orlando. You said late last year that you would make it out soon

Yes, agreed! I will be at the track this year/season. I would like to meet up and see what my bike can do. I have never raced on the track but I'm Gun Ho! Are you going to be there 5/2? What time should I go?

Tim,

I'd imagine that you'd want to take the GPS off the bike and put it in a pocket or something when you are leaving the bike parked anywhere (store, work, nudie bar, etc.). Do those contacts stay exposed, or do they give you some type of weatherproof cover for the exposed block?

Did any type of factory mount come with this unit? If so, how does it compare to the TechMount, and how much do those TechMount's go for?

Love that setup. Thanks for posting the pics, and detailing the install!
Michael

Michael, Garmin provides a quality carrying case for the 660 and it's form fitting so the consumer is not carrying something bulky. The few times that I used the Gps, I was able to fit the case(with 660 inside) into my rear pocket. Garmin provides a plastic cap to cover the contacts while the 660 is disconnected. Both the 660 and the cover locks into a clasp and has a quick release lever.
The mount that came with the Garmin was a handle bar mount and had a lot of exposed hardware(kind of looked cheesy considering the product). I didn't like it and even though I spent another $80 to get a Techmount(stem mount), it was worth every penny! I'm very detailed and have taken REALLY good care of my bike. All of my mods have either improved the appearance(tastefully-IMHO) or the performance....

660 is the deal! When my 550 finally dies or get stolen, I'll be online shopping for the 660

Now Steve I can see why you talked the Zumo up yrs ago. The quality & appearance is awesome! We can even get caught in the rain without damaging the unit. They do cost a lot!
