Please buy the pan, It cost me $1k to repair my bike after I busted my stock pan. If you don't decide to go with the low profile pan just remember this conversation when you bust your pan.

You can get away without a lower oil pan, as I have done for two seasons. But...and this is a big but...you need monitor your setup very closely. If you are sliding your forks up in the clamps significantly, you should probably go with a lower profile pan. There is no question though, that the lower profile bolt and removed guard are a big improvement over the stock setup.

Here is what I did:

quote:

The first step was finding a new drain plug:

I then used a dremel and flat file to remove the guard, bringing it down to a point a little below my new drain bolt:

It worked for me, but use at your own risk. I still have some plugs left, if interested. Email Shane at warp 12 racing dot com. Thanks.

Shane

it'll be worth every penny spent. I ride on the street and have the lowered pan on mine with no issues. you only lose a few ounces of oil with it. go to their site and check it out. You can also call shannon with any questions you might have (if he doesn't chime in here first). He's one of the best people I've ever dealt with.

Maybe you can use the drain plugs they use in many of the Nissan vehicles? They have those flush mount drains like this that just has a inverted allen head in it.

Or maybe a Mallory Drain plugs?

I weigh 130 lbs and had my forks slid up 3/4 of an inch. I busted my pan coming down from a wheelie. Everyone shrugs me off including Eklipse636 about getting a pan until he busted his too.......LOL. You only lose like 4ounces of oil with the cut pan. OSR sent me a pan first but charged me a core. Once I got the pan done I sent it back for my refund. What part of Florida?

I would be a good example. I wouldn't listen until it happened to me. I was fornutate enough not to go down as I was in first gear. Last month a guy went down here doing a wheelie in 2nd gear, messed a bunch of shit up on his bike including leathers. $125 has got to be worth your paint alone!!

He will have you another pan in around a week. He has them in stock. Great guy to deal with!!

I presume, this is only for those guys with lowered bikes? I have yet to bottom my bike out on anything underneath.
