Ok, where does Kawi go from here?

Ok, I know everybody on this site is 14 crazy including myself. Here's my question, what is Kawi or Suzuki have in store for us in the future. Who is gonna come out with the next bike that everybody wants or is talkin about? Perhaps a zx15 or 16, maybe a Booza 15 or somethin. Personally, havin owned both bikes I'm hopin that kawi does make the first move in there evolution. I just was won over completely with the 14 with in all categories. I'm disappointed that Honda or Yahmaha don't make the bigger cc diplacment like Kawi and Zuk does. I realize that the Blackbird is so outdated but ya gotta admit it would be cool 2 see a new version of the Blackbird. So I can beat them wit my bad 2 the bone Ninja 2! Lol. Some competition would be nice. Its funny 2 me reading past threads of when this bike first came out there were so many people raggin on it. Its ugly, its not fast enough, is Kawi for real this thing its hideous, wa wa wa! Oh how far we have come, cause now everybody who owns one and races it or is just a street rider most riders are say its the best bike they have ever owned and I'm happy 2 say I'm one of them.

I dont see any big advances in the hyperbike class. There isnt enough interest in this to sell a lot of units to pay for development.
With Aprilia and BMW upping the liter bikes I feel thats where the advancements will stay.
Also the adventure bikes, naked bikes and Kawasakis own 650 twins sell more units.
Gas prices will probably climb soon also. I dont see monster bikes being a focus in this economy. Insurance costs affect buyers too.
Personally I'd love to see Kawasaki build a crusher dual purpose/SM bike.
Thats where my interest is headed.

Well my dear rider...That is so true...Well, the only thing I can add to that is, I dont know how possible it would be to but a bigger engine and still be able to keep the sport bike look... i mean It was only by a miracle that the 14 looked as good as it did...lol But then again...That is why you pay engineers large salaries right...to figure that stuff all out...p.s. Any bigger and I think we will be using hovering craft as motorcycles in the future...that is what i would like to see...

Wow man what a collection. I agree, the time and the trips on the bikes is what makes them special. The 12 was a sweet bike. My best friend had one when I had my Booza, and he use 2 walk me.

Brock Davidson already told you all about the 2010 bike thats lighter than a GSXR-1000 and puts out more rear wheel HP than a ZX14...beat that combo

Until I actually see the new BMW on the road and race one, I'm not 2 excited about the Beemer. I'm 34 and maybe when I get a liitle older the styling might grow on me but for now, yuck. It does nothin for me. I'm still not sold on those numbers either. Plus the aftermarket for BMW sucks. Not enough bolt on stuff you can with them like the 14. Spend a little money on the 14 and you get awesome RWHP gains. Dollar for dollar the 14 will kill it.

Our local BMW dealership has the new 1000 available for demo rides and I took advantage of the offer last week..........it's really a good bike.
Best brakes of any bike I've ever ridden, strongest mid-range of the liter bikes. I had a blast using the optional quick shifter, it worked great.
The gear ratios are really good, every shift stays in the power band but factory gearing seems short to me as I looked for seventh a couple times.
On normal down shifting I could feel the slipper clutch set-up, not something I've felt on the ZX10's. No problems just kinda annoying.
The suspension was very stiff, I don't know how they had it adjusted. On the smooth roads it tracked great, bumpy roads were another thing. I wish I'd questioned how they had it set up.
This one was loaded and the price is way up there compared to what I'm used to buying. I liked it just fine but was not all giddy over it verses the 10's.
Look forward to reading some professional reviews and see how it compares in real world testing.
Dan

That's the thing Dan, I know that the askin price is gonna be a whole lot more then we're use 2 payin. I just think its gonna be overpriced for the performance that we get for what we have now. Remember when BMW came out with their overpriced beast that was suppose 2 contend with the Busa? It didn't come close with an over the top price to boot. I guess Kawi and Suzuki fans are gonna have 2 wait and see what they do next 2 evolve their current 14 and Busa models. I'm sure tweeks here and there will come in the near future.

OK, Heres what I would like to see :
Duel VVT..both intake and exausts valvetrain advancement adjustments by oil pressure.

True direct fuel injection...A long thin tube that atomizes fuel in the cylinder.

lightweight steel reenforced timming belt(s). No chain for engines

Synthetic Polymer produced wheels for weight

Factory USB connection for engine and suspension management with adjustments for riders needs and environment.

Electronic/magnetic suspension valving

More plug and play parts such as interchangable gauges, storage and assesories in general.

Make two frame sizes in certain bikes to accomodate different rider sizes. I would have rather bought a zx10 if the frame was 3 inches longer to accomodate the standard rider height of an American. Bicycle companies do it. I have been able to overlook the 14s looks and now love the bike with its power I seldom need or use. Best overall bang for the buck!!!

These are just some of the things that would make a company stand out from the rest (especially in a ressesioned industry). Cost would rise on a single bike but if done in mass production for most models, cost would be reachable for the average person. Kawasaki has to think out of the box and not try to mirror other Asian competetors.

competition is good for us all, no matter what name is on the bike.

I own a Yami and Kawi and hope the beemer and aprilia make all brands lose weight and gain HP, better traction control options, and variable race ABS.

They already have a version of the black bird really, its the VFR1200, its the closest thing to Black Bird. The thing is pretty darn fast if you ask me.Honestly, these kinds of bikes arent hot sellers like their 600s and liter bikes so Honda and Yamaha are focusing on hotter seller bikes instead of the slow market hypersports.

I have an easy update. Kawasaki can modify and mount the supercharger they have on their PWC for the 14. Now that would be awesome.

Having seen what the BMW can do I think that the other Japanese manufacturers have got to play catch-up now and probably by fitting traction control, anti-wheely control etc to their bikes along with the already available ABS and switchable power modes. It seems like the European manufacturers have thrown the voluntary 186mph/300kph top speed agreement into the trash too judging by the speeds obtained in road tests.
I think they'll concentrate on the 1000cc class of bikes and others in the range will get any equipment upgrades as appropriate.

I saw one of the red, white and blue ones the other day - still butt-fugly, IMHO. No way I'd spend the big coin on something that looks like that., I don't care how fast it is.
