Best price on a Speedcell Battery...

$250 seems the norm. Anybody sell for less?

go to the backyard garage on the main forums page. There's a new line out that's 170 bucks with a hard case.

I have a Supersport Speedcell in my SV 1000. If it gets below 50 degrees it can be reluctant to start .But I am pushing it on a Thou. I take a hair dryer to warm it up and she always fires. After that engine heat keeps it happy. I think the Superbike with 2 rows would start it below 50. Do they start the 14 below 50? I lost over 10lbs with the Supersport.

I have the 1 lbs. 6 oz Speedcell in the 14 and just bought an even lighter (11 oz!)
Speedcell for my track 750. The only issue with them is in cold weather- cranking power noticeably
decreases. Other than that- no trouble whatsoever.

I'd buy a battery from Dubious and save a few $$$,
bottom line is $250 is a bit too much IMHO.

I bought a Ballistic battery from KWS Motorsports & like the Speed Cell it's small, it's their highest CCA and weighs like 2.2 pounds.
It's in my ZX12R (streetbike) with a 1287 kit that has 13.5 pistons and it's unreal how well it spins the engine over. It's been in the 50' & 60's here for the last couple weeks since the install so I don't know how it will do in cold weather.
You can check it out on their website.

I really like my TurnTech battery I purchased from Lyle. It's working great for me with several quick starting and stopping cranks while tuning and at the dragstrip with no charging yet. I'll see how it works in a month from sitting. Check it out here. http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=16&TID=52854&set_time=

I am now recommending the 7.5 A for anything over 1200 cc with internal mods, and 7.5A for anything over 1000 cc in cold weather use, below 60F.

They will work with the 5A on stock motors down to 50F, but not without specific battery warming techniques, and I have had too many ppl complain cause thay are not following procedure.

haha. They won't frezze, removal is not necessary. The internal clock on the 14 will draw some volatge over a period, but not much. The most important thing is allowing the battery to warm through this procedure of pulsing , or removing and warming it by physical means if the temperatures are cold.
