Horsepower and Clutches

How much Horse power can a stock 14 clutch safely handle before one has to start thinking about lockup clutches to prevent slippage because of big motor, Turbo or Nitrous power?

the real street bikes make around 350HP to the tire and are going 7.8-8.0 @ mid 180s with a stock clutch, just springs and spacers.

BUT....don't be thinking they are getting any sort of clutch life out of them....

I think you could get up to about 200 on stock springs with spacers, but you might as well upgrade to HD spings if you are going that direction. Lock-up for sure if you are going north of 200 and draggin.

I don't have a lockup and my clutches are the same OEM ones the bike came with. there is a good amont of dyno pulls and track events on them. and I'd say the bike is north of 200hp.
aftermarket springs and spacers.

Adams also has stated that the clutch life with the real street setup isn't short at all, then again it all depends on how hard you are on the bike too. I've seen stock bikes with an arm burn up a clutch in 2 passes.

stock clutches will go to 300hp with stiffer springs, how long it lasts will depend on how hard you slide it leaving the line, if you let it cool between rounds. and you keep the proper stack heighth.

I have the 1417 kit in mines and I'm currently making 210 HP at the RR. Thinking bout putting a 50 or 60 dry shot on it and I was wondering if the stock clutch cud handle an additional 50/60 HP. I currently jus have the spacers from Brock in with the stock springs. No problems or slippage with the 210 HP. What u guys think?
