First thing, Ride your bike to down the return road to the end of the track and learn where the finish line is, and also see where the turn off is.... After that, just have and ride within your limits.... Having fun is the reason we all go....Dont worry about beating the bike in the other lane....

Watch the other guys at the track... And ask them some questions.....

I would NOT drop a tooth in the front sprocket for awhile. At stock wheelbase, that makes it very hard to get off the line. A swb 14 with a 16t and extra power is a hard monster to ride. If you were to do just one thing to the bike before taking it to the track for the first time, you should strap it down...makes a huge difference. Other than that, don't get too caught up in all of the small stuff. Just set the two top yellows off and go at green. Get used to the acceleration and have fun. By the way, at the end, don't grab a big handful of front brake.

I am 235-240ish in gear Chris. My bike is slightly geared and lowered an inch in front, not straped yet,1.5 inches in the rear. Full muzzy system power comanderIII with good map.I haven't been down the track in about 15 years on a bike, but use to race them frequently.1st pass was my best as I tried to get more agressive and it wheelied bad enough my wife stoped shooting video to see why the bike sounded funny. It was still fun as ever. I will be ordering front straps now that it stood up real good. Your eeight will not hold the front down if its even slightly modded. Go have fun.

I think it would be better to use a Dremmel or a zizz wheel to take the lip off, less chance of striking oil accedently.
