Normal. It has to do with the way the ecu cuts/enables the fuel at around 3k rpm. SmokinZX14 could tell you more.

Did you plug off the air box in the bottom where the hose goes in?

Yes, pull the 3/4 inch hose off of the bottom of the air box and plug it with the supplied plug. If it did not come with a plug buy the Muzzys pair block of kit which eliminates the smog system all together and it comes with a billet airbox plug. Mine still has a small pop but nothing like what I have heard on others.

No .. It will allways pop on decell right about 3000 RPMs ... When you decell the fuel turns off , when the motor hit 3000 RPM the ECU fuel turns back on ....POP.... Ivans make a TRE that fixes the problem but your bike will not run right with it .. Just pull the clutch in before you hit 3000 and it will not pop ....

I dont have a pop but during my usual rev match downshifts i sometimes get a really loud bang, probably a backfire. Sounds almost like a shotgun.

Especially at night. Nothing like releasing a 2.5 ft fireball into the air right next to a cage's drivers side window.

You have a full exhaust with no fuel management or compensator? Or is it just a slip on?
