For the cost,I would bite the bullet, foot the cost for Crower or Carillo for peice of mind.

Word is the stoke rods are good for 300 hp, Do you intend to spray this engine?
It's another grand to add them. Who's doing the work ?
If you are building it yourself and not going to spray, IMO go for it.
Otherwise spend the money on insurance.

I personally dont like the stock rods ,, no oil hole on the little end, they are not bushed and kawasaki recommneds that the rod bolts be replsced every time you take it apart. .

stock rods have the bolts pressed into the big end. pressing bolts out sand in usually makes the rod out of round snd require that the the rod be resized. and honed .. A bolt that srews into the big end doesn't do that.
