Oh yeah, the 12 was fast as hell. My buddy use 2 smoke me on his when I had my booza. His was an 03 stock, mine had some mods and he use 2 lose me. I rode it as hard as I could and still was gettin spanked. I knew I was the better rider to. Pretty much the reason why I hoped off my 02 booza and got my 14. Mod for mod the best bang for the money and for all out balls is the 14. Dat includes the new booza, V-Max and so on.

"best bang for the money and for all out balls is the 14.

Your an idot if you think that. It takes way more money to mod a 14 . Just ask any body that has half a brain. The 14 is not the cheapest bike to mod. nor is it the easyest. The 12 was easyer and cheaper to mod than the 14. Like the 12 and the genI busa were so close that its hard to belive a modded busa could not beat a stock 12 . Oh yea you were riding it.
Thats like say a modded 14 couldn't beat a stock genII busa. The numbers don't lie.
Or mabey the stock genII busa would when because you were riding the moded 14.

Oh I forgot

I have a 12 and a 14, and the 14 is a much improved bike. The 12 is not easier and cheaper to mod than the 14, that's for sure.

So some of you guys know the history of Brocks impressions. Does he talk shit or is he normally pretty accurate?

I get the impression for the folks that know, or know of him, he is considered pretty trusted/reliable.

Fact remains whether or not the BMW is a drag racing force, they certainly did their homework with the bike design firstly and they targeted drag racers as well as the road racing crowd with their marketing strategy you have to hand it to them, now if this bike puts down some drag racing #'s in 1000ss everyone is gonna have to do a rethink on their 1000cc sportbikes. Imagine an 8.70 from this bike first weekend out??

I don't see the BMW S1000RR being a good drag bike I believe it will still be put down by the ZX & Busa on the strip . Its a high revving high HP bike designed for the twisty track and doesn't have the size or torque needed for the strip.

Even if I was in the market for something like the S I000 RR, I'd never be able to get past that butt-ugly front end. That and BMW's flagging quality, reliability and durability record will always stop me from buying into the BMW brand, regardless of the level of hype and positive mag articles and reviews.

If this bike follows the pattern for all the other later Beemer models, a bunch of people will buy them and then all the design/manufacturing/quality and reliability defects will start to show up. Then the Beemerco will deny everything and blame the failures on the riders.

Screw that! If I wanna go blazin' fast real quick, I'll stick with the ZX14. It's proven itself over time to be pretty much bullet proof and by far the best bang for the buck available. Plus, there's a reliable dealer/parts network and repairs aren't gonna cost me some ridiculous amount of $$$. If I want to go rippin' around on twisty roads, I'll get ANYTHING other than a Beemer.

But to each his own. Everybody has to make their own choices.

+1 on the butt ugulyness lol! Although that's one nasty lookin' but cause I've seen butts better looking than that!

If BMW makes a real splash in the dragracing market I suppose we will have to stop at the other end not only for the scales but also for a bit of Perrier and aged cheese. Just to make it a civilized sport. Oh, I am still sticking with my 14. Drag raced an 04 zx10 for one year and although I loved the bike I could not afford the clutch packs. Someone touched on it earlier, the bike is not intended for dragracing, the 14 was. Well, dragracing and Sport Touring!!!!
