quote: I'll probably be trying these. I need to make sure that they will pass tech at the track (and I don't know that they will because they are not 100% leather..... They look very comfy though, and reasonably priced.

I have been wearing Simpson Carting boots at the track for a couple years and I really like them for the track. Not comfortable for all day use, you can feel every stone, the nice thing is you can feel the shifter too. I am shopping for boots this year since AMA/Dragbike decided Simpson's are no longer acceptable after guys have been racing in them for a decade. It is getting harder and harder to justify attending their races. I am scared I am going to buy a boot and not be able to find the shifter in them.

i agree 100% that those socks shouldn't be allowed. Anyone who has ever crashed in them will agree as well. I think that boots should at least allow some sort of protection. Even if it is just being stiff enough to keep your toes from touching the arch of your foot (which i've seen happen with driving shoes). My next pair of boots will be the SIDI drag boots.

I guess I have a problem with them telling us that they all the sudden are not good enough. NHRA, allows them yet AMA, not so much. I do like the Sidi's, I think that Schnitz carried them at one time but don't quote me on that.
