I'm putting together a legal SS motor for Jesse ..This is a fresher low mile motor i sold him a while back .. .020 off the head , deg cams and a good race type style valve job .. Once it is installed i will put it on the dyno ... Being a fresh motor and not a 10000 mile motor that has the snot beat out of it it should make more HP than his motor is making now ..I would like to see 180+ HP on my dyno ...We will see ...

I'm sure that the miles and pounding that Jesse's bike have taken more than make up for that thin headgasket.
That is very true ...The last time i had Jesses bike on the dyno was with a Smeg and thin head gasket ...It had the same map as it does now .. First pull sucked 159 ... Reset his TPS setting witch was way off and it jumped to 163 .. I played with his map some but never got more than 163 so i put the map back in as it came from Brock .. I was thinking 10000 miles , a turbo and a butt load of spray had taken it toll on his motor ..I was very happy to see his HP back to 171 with the CT pipe ..But i feel Jesse motor is still down on power due to all the beating it has taken since 2006 ..

Has anyone else had problems with their TPS not being correctly set? I read on Brock's site that nearly every Busa they tested was off, how about the 14's?

I don't know if the factory TPS gets out of adjustment but i do know the TPS on the dynojet P/C does ... Brock said to reset it every time you change your oil or service your bike .. I check it and reload my map every oil change or anytime it goes on the dyno .. I have seen them off as much as 8 % ..

You are not twisting the throttle hard enough ... Really ....What happens is the cable gets a bite longer and when that happens the settings get off .. If you even reset your idle it will change the reading ... Something to think about ..
Brock said you need to reload your map from time to time ..He said for some reason the maps become corrupted ...

I can see that, I am an electronics technician and the same thing happens with the software on our automated test stations. Every once in awhile we have to reload the software to correct crazy errors.

What is .020 as far as compression? Any idea? Does it also get the thin gasket?

I'm anxious to see the #'s on this motor, with the CT!

mtc peoples told me before using a cometic gasket to have both head and cylinder redeck to make sure your mating to flat surface

Wow, you must be eating radioactive carrots in order to see .030 in a pic. If you meant .30...well, not possible (if you want to put the head on the motor, that is).

" to me " looks like the valve cup is flat with the motor in the pic.. and the ridge is sticking out of the case.. and the ridge is about 30 thousands rise above the piston . guesstimating

and no i haven't check no squish personally to know for a fact .but i was told there's .090 between valve and piston

but i know stock pistons are inside the block and don't rise above the case..

but i wish i took pics of my MTC drop ins piston on my redeck cases ..because my pistons cleared my case's some..

i don't care what the cams got .. its simple next time before i pull a head i'll drop clay and find out .. or shim under the cams with a .090 feeler gauge and see if it hits
