2008 zx14 mods improvement!!!!!!
FYI:
I own a 08 ZX14. equipped with a TRC Yoshimura full exhaust, CUSTOM map and PC3.
I have removed the flies and the shaft for the secondaries, I installed TRE for the ZX14 with the flies out, TRE006 I think had it dyno tuned at STEADMAN MOTORSPORTS in ALABAMA.
The bike made 185.77 hp with 109ft. lbs torque..................
MY best friend and myself are gluded to each other from @ 7000 in 2nd gear roll on's. all the way up to about an indicated 175.mph.........This has been going on for about a year now and was really crazy how these bikes were even. Time to make some changes!
1.Increased fuel in the power commander 5 points from 9500-11000rpm at 100% throttle only. to Compensate for no ream air on the dyno.
2. removed ram air system and blocked all the leaks in the ram air tubes. Used Ultra
Black on the soft intake tube area behind the air intake from the front cowling and reinstalled and let all dry.
3.Installed the Factory Pro Short Stacks in the frame witch was a pain in the ass.
4. Installed a 40 Tooth rear sproket (one down from stock).
5. Advanced the ignition timing 4 degrees by slotting the stock oem pickup .052 COUNTERCLOCKWISE! You can always go back to the stock setting.
6.Removed the PIPERCROSS Air Filter............it was NOT keeping my frame/airbox clean IE: not filtering. There was alof of grit and crap in my airbox to wipe out.
7. Installed a used cleaned oem air filter.
We ran them yesterday after my mods, ....................Pulled my friend 7-8 bikes from 2nd out till 175 mph......................
WORKED FOR ME MAYBE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU!

So you removed the secondary shaft without getting any codes? i was under the impression that you had to cut the shaft and re-install it so that the servo thinks it's still hooked up in order to keep from throwing an FI code. also, why run the anti pop TRE if you're really worried about performance... That thing is slowing you down. If you're doing roll ons, slap a 16T front sprocket on there and either grind the sprocket nut, or buy a bonneville box from muzzys to correct your speedo. You will see a drastic improvement in acceleration by lowering your gearing Vs. gearing up.
Keep up the work man... if you're not careful you'll end up with the drag bug though.

jetskidave sorry you missed the joke
I am sorry you didn't realize that my post was really aimed at Chad, aka Bawls, now Craig Christ. I to was curious about your gearing choice too.was that a misprint perhaps?A 40 tooth rear would be aimed at pure top speed and hurt your roll-on power. I run a 43 tooth rear to improve mine. What kind of ski you running? I have a 2000 ultra and love it. Sorry about the confusion earlier.

all that to get 74.3mph? We ran a bone stock RXDI 130hp 2-stroke up to 71mph, but that's all the hull would allow before it started getting air. TNT had the 2nd nitrous kit ever sold by MR. Nitrous back in the day for our TS650 kawasaki :P. Then he pissed my mom off and she pushed the button while pulling him up on a slalom ski lol.

Ditto on misprint on smaller rear sprocket. Up 1 on rear from stock is a Great improvment
for 2nd gear roll on's. A smaller than stock Kills roll on's. After your stock chain has
stretched out you can install a 43 rear. Perfect street gearing for how you play.
I do the same, takes the rider out of it some and you see more about the bike's power.
