The 14 or new Busa will suit your needs equally well. Get the one that you like the most.

Or get 'em both and be done with it.

quote: i joined a busa forum and a gsxr forum and i noticed that everyone is committed to their bike and
hates the other side, the gixxer dudes hates the busa guys and it goes on from there...
i found it hard to get an unbiased opinion on the bikes
Well I don't want to sound biased but , I have and run my own M/C shop and have been working on bikes for years.
Before the 14 came out there was only a handful of bikes I would even look at. The old school Naked bikes were my thing and still are.
The busa was attractive only because of it's reputation. But it was missing something to get me to think about even owning one.
The CBR 1000 at the time or the RC-51 were great bikes to look at and work on but still not enough for me to do more than look.
Then the 14 came out in 06 . My dad and I got 1 Red and Blue. Ever since I've been comparing every bike that came into my shop against the 14.
There are a few that are awesome but are missing what the 14 has.
The 1098 duc. Awesome machine ! Intense power but very uncomfortable to be a daily rider that will be toured with or ridden 2up.
Maintenance is a bit of a pain when compared to the 14 or any other. Japanese sportbike for that matter.
The CBR 1000, very small feeling in the ergonomic section, but big on power. Great twisty bike!
Not bad for a daily rider but cramped if you're tall person.
Maintenance is a breeze!
The gixxer 1000 , kinda the same in the ergo section , cramped for tall people but a great twist bike with great power.
Maintenance is a breeze too.
The ZX-10 reminds me of the 14 but smaller and a bit on the buzzy side.
I won't get into the 600's cause they have no power and that is a must for me.
But I will say that the gixxer 600 is a comfy little twisty bike.
All the above bikes have mirrors that are useless too !
The Busa, now this is a decent performing bike that does what you ask it to do.
I'm talking 08 and later . It's comfy and powerful. It's really up to you when getting this or the 14
Maintenance is a breeze too.
The 1800 honda goldwing! A very deceiving machine! Extreme comfort , great power and sportbike like handling!
My next bike for me and the missus!
Maintemance is a bit more complex cause every thing is covered up by something. Not too bad though.
Now the 14 , now I got the 06 so the power was a bit
disappointing at 1st till I found the info I needed here on bikeland to wake this sleeping beast.
She has been the best bike with 0 problems or upsets ever since. She has amost 60,000 on her clock that were put there by only by me.
The mirrors are clear up to 170 after that who knows cause I'm not lookin' at the mirrors past that ..
Shouldn't have been looking at them at those speeds but I had to cause they're so clear lol
I'm 6'0" @165 lbs and The ergo's of this bike fit me perfect , I'm good on long road trips ,everyday riding, and whatever else.
The bike is perfectly at home in the canyons , road courses, and of course the drag strips.
I'm sorry I am biased and the 14 wins hands down!

There both great bikes. The 14 does run hot in the summer I put a second fan on and that worked well. The busa does have a vibration that buzzez up through the bars from the pegs that many have complained about. If you can live with that its also a great bike.
