I think Suzuki will just cut back on certain model imports that are not selling well in the US and will import in spring when sales may do better.

You could always come to Canada and get your 2010, they are still shipping them here.

actually the weak dollar is the only thing that has made our exports attractive to the rest of the world and imports less attractive to us. without that we'd be in a hellof a mess. why you think Obama is not addressing it?

but the dollar falling isn't the reason, the BMW and Aprilia (RSV standard, not the "Factory") is priced better than the japs considering standard options.

BMW and others will gladly fill the void unless the japs lower their prices, bring new design to market, and support racing.

Unless the japs wake up, they ALL will be HUMBLED like sazook!

A buddy of mine just left me a voicemail- he's asking $6K for his 08 zx10r returned to bone stock and with less than 3K on the odo, the bike is mint and well maintained.
I can buy it for even less first thing tomorrow morning.

If I put $10K in mods in it and run it at the track against the $16K bimmer it will be a joke!

Let's revisit the list:
Ohlins suspension
BST wheels with cf brake rotors (ceramic if need be)/ slicks of any choice
Full ti Akra or Leo Vince exhaust with a dyno tune
Brembo front calipers/ Brembo master cylinder/ Spiegler lines / Vesrah RJL pads
520 chain and sprocket conversion (regeared and with the ERV3 chain!)
R-R race aluminum subframe
Armour bodies full race fairings and stripped of anything not needed at the track
Random dietery stuff- say Speedcell battery and such...

Do you still not get the idea??? It will be a complete joke to even think that the bimmer will lap within 2 sec behind the zx10 with equally skilled riders!

I agree though- the 10R will never be such a great POSER BIKE like the BMW and the Aprillia

The litre bikes are the japs best selling products. Suzuki is simply avoiding the humbling the others will endure in 2010 by Aprilia and BMW (on both the race tracks and the sales floors)

The big 4 sell 2 600's for every litre bike...... just so you know

This is a non-issue to me. Suzuki will be back. BMW and Aprilia can pound sand.

thanks for the info, I didn't realize 600's were selling 2:1 over litre bikes. I can see the europeans and soon Chinese penetrating that market as well.

Bottom line, competition is great for us consumers

Competition is the LIFEBLOOD of sport bikes: any brand that stops competing immediately goes into reverse on there sport bike sales. And I don't see Suzuki being able to elbow there way into the BMW Sport Touring or Harley Cruiser scenes. There aim here is very confusing.

The confusion is "why is Sazook not able to sell bikes"

Their competitors certainly appreciate them exiting the market

Exactly........and until zuki puts hardbags and a windshield on a shaft driven version of the BKing - they're losing out on the sport touring market as well.

If a consumer wants something other than a 2010 model Sazook, guess he wouldn't care.

And the ones that are fans of sazook will be a different brand so you're right 100%! The others appreciate Suzuki exiting the market-place

Give em credit for making a smart business decesion. If the sales are not there....why spend more $$$

Sure it sucks if your a Susuki fan and even more so when looking at the BMW S1000RR and the Aprillia releases but i doubt sales are going to be stellar for either of them much less the other mfg.

Maybe they had a secret meeting with Obama already and he said nah we only want car manufactures no bailout bucks for motorcycle companies
