thermal coating

i know most of y'all call it ceramic coating . but i learned alot at a place call PolyDyn about this .. i had a set of MTC pistons coated 52.00 a piece to get the works .. 22.00 just for tops.
the brand new machined high dollar aluminum pro-mod car motors they had there getting coated. i almost pass out looking at that kind of art .. hell a guy from the swamps was getting a briggs and stratton 16 hp motor completely coated .he use's it on a jon-boat in the salt flats with 1 them long shaft weed chopper props .. the kind you see in thailand .. i even seen a 14 inch around 2 cycle piston ..wow was that strange any how ths thermal coating is supposed to lay the heat out evenly on the pistons ..and not let heat build up in 1 spot . next i'm taking my head to get the combustion chamber and intake and exhaust ports done .. i didn't know that was plauseable .. like i said i learned alot from the tour i got

Yup NASCAR and NHRA guys have been doing this for years and it works ...

The newist thing I have heard of in coatings is hard anodizing. Tops and skirts are both done for longevity in heavy nitrous apps. I haven't seen it yet. Going to try it on my next set of pistons and see how much it last over coatings.
