My New oil pan
Got my new oil pan finished for the turbo. Has about an extra quart capacity, oil return tube goes through the pan to next to the oil pick-up.
Guy at work fabbed up the larger sump area and made a special oil tube on the lathe and welded everything up. Sent it to another dept. to have it powder coated.Inside is kept separate to keep oil from sloshing around.
New pan VS old pan

Inside you can see only 2 small slots to let the oil flow to the sump area, also oil tube for turbo return line. Small hole on top to let air bleed out.

I have to say i'm happy with the results!!

Looks nice. I don't know what I'll be doing with my oil pan yet, but I like the price of the OSR.

The standard lowered pans worked great for me the last 2 years, but i wanted more oil available for the turbo if needed.

stu,
If that is for a turbo? If so and you haven't already done it, I think I'd put in a small three sided 'cup' on the floor for the oil suction tube to nest into some, with a pipe T'd to it, leading out to a fitting on the side (turbo oil return line fitting)... so the oil return would have spectacular suction (improving on the ATP oil return idea). The open side of the cup would be for normal oil suction feeding.
I like that pan you made up.

Woudl you turbo guys want some sort of drain/return back into the pan? If so what fitting would you like to see in it

Clem, most use an-10 fitting, if smaller they can adapt.
Good deal Stu.
it is imperative the turbo drain goes back near the pump suction, or the motor may starve
It is possible the turbo oil volume can starve the pan, and pickup.

Excellent point,
This is most important with gravity drain.
Not likely , but It could also happen with a scavenge pump, if the oil route is too long or restricted.
Basically the engine oil pump could push more oil faster than what returns,
This usually happens when the tire breaks loose and the engine revs extremely fast.
The oil doesn't return as fast as its pumped away.
Turbo engines should always have allot of oil capacity for this reason, that oil circulating volume is increased when the turbo is added.

It's not rocket science but, if you cut your pick to long or too short it will cost you an engine. If you don't know what you are doing get with someone who does.
OSR price is very reasonable for the welding and a tested part.
