might be a redneck

Having just got the Alien Head...Brock was right it's mo-fo loud, which I like...and don't. I see where the name came from. It describes the neighbors alien looking mug through the fence on all sides. I don't want to give up on the noise quite yet. I also have the streetmeg that's also very nice... seems even louder.. big ass exit hole. So my dumb-ass got out the stock R/H pipe and cut it off... and stretched out the raw end of the stocker..and stuffed it into the mentioned header..utter blasphemy I know. It bolted right up. and doesnt leak. I took it out for a test ride. First impression was seat of the pants low end. silent like a ninja and no noticeable immediate restriction problem. It wants to loft the tire nicely. All I can hear is the wind. Hit a hundred quick as usual. The steely sound of it reminds me of the maiden voyage. What I like is the quieter it is the faster I go and without the unwanted attention. It's fast to change ends and maybe good to hush-up for the long trips. ps..I'm old ok?

I love the Brocks performance! I got an SMeg and my neighbors were hatin' me at 5am every morning......so i bought the Brocks noise reduction insert. it cuts about 10db out of her mouth around idle, but doesn't do much when i throttle on. So i basically putt around the plat until i get outta town before i really rip into it. just an option and easier to put in than swappin' pipes.

Brocks carries a few variations -- one for the alien head and short meg - and one for the street meg and Sidewinder -- and one for the CT series. Yours should be about 2" baffle outlet where my street meg is a 2-1/4". They both run right around $100-$110

After installing the reduction insert on mine, it didn't really change the tone but did reduce the volume a bit. It could be a possibility to repack the muffler with additional packing but the hole diameter is what it is for a reason -- Brock tests his systems to the fullest and spec them as so to make the most beneficial power possible........so i don't know if I'd tinker with any of that just to reduce noise.

I am in total agreement with tinkering! But am all for others to do it so I can see the results .

I went 140 miles today with it quiet. I have to admit, just hearing motor was nice..no earplugs or backfire. Oh ..I forgot to say Im at a 30 deg angle to the right from the heavy sumbich bwahaha. I'll get this fad out of my system here shortly. But now 1 stock pipe might hang instead of tossing both. wouldnt it be fun for a bike night somewhere to make a huge pile of stock pipes from all over..see how big it is
