Single front break help
Getting home is a long way off. But would like to have a single break line for the left caliper waiting at home when I get back if anyone can tell me where to find one to order or dimension and angles. Weight coming off everywhere except me. Thanks

I just ordered a standard 2-line front kit, and used only one of the lines.

I just took the jumper hose off and ran the one stock line that comes down to the right side, and moved it to the left side.

How is the lever feel with the stock line? I was amazed at the amount of feel you get with the single braided line. One of the roadracers I know even commented on it when we were putting the bike on the dyno.
It could be too sensitive for some, I suppose. But I really like the level of control.

I honestly couldn't tell you by riding it alone Shane. I would have to ride mine and ride someones with stainless lines. Honestly, I've never owned a bike with ss braided lines in the front.

I calleld Brocks today about the front single front brake line. Steve said that Speigler would probably split up the pair rather then paying full price for 2 lines. I found out the front kit for the 14 from Brocks was $174.99. Even at half price for one $174.99 is a bit steep for me.

It's only one short line... Damn that's a lot for a 12" brake line! Maybe 14"...

I got a dual line kit from Schnitz for $89.95.

I did the same thing as Dusty, using the stock line only on the left side. Been running this way for the past 3 years with no issues.

It all depends on the venue, Lee. I have stopped from 211 mph on a single brake, using two fingers, in well under a mile. I have stopped from approximately 170 mph on the same setup, in under 1000 feet.
Both of these examples were very easy on the rotor, with mild application. As with anything else, skill becomes a big factor with staying upright and stopping quickly.
How long is the shutdown at Lakeland?

All of the venues I run at have a nice long shutdown area. Pacific had some high 4 second cars last year.....

No Problem Raceway, my home track, I can just let off the gas and coast, barely need any brake (1/2 mile shutdown)....I'm only on my 2nd set of pads over 1600 passes.
