Chain length with new counter sprocket

With a new 16 tooth counter and a stock rear sprocket will it be necessary to remove a link from the chain?Thanks

No it will be fine.

If i go to a 16t front and 43t rear, what will i have to do the chain.....

nothing. As far as I know, 16/43 can be run with the stock chain.

If the stock chain has broken in and stretched a bit. I could not get the 43 on

until I had about 2000 miles on the stock chain.

Unless my memory is going. Our chains are all even # links. Think about removing just 1 link.

that's a lot of gearing for swb...


Actually Dusty 16/43 is a blast for a stock WB and hieght on a 14. 70 in 6th is about 4200 RPM. Not too busy and in the good part of the torque band for 6th gear roll on's passing cars on the open hiway. 60 to 90 happens Much faster. :-) It does tend to pull the front tire on 1st and 2nd gears :-) if I remember right about 178 or so top end with 55 series rear Michelin Pilot Power 2CT.

I love that gearing, been using it for years now with stock wheel base.
