Shock revalve seems to help.
235lb suited rider, stock engine pass. No spray.

1.46 was the best before today. Air conditions were worse than before, 68degrees and 90% humidity. Best before today was 1.46, 3.90, 5.90 @ 121mph.

kick ass man... who did your shock, and what all did you have done to it? when I got my spring put on, racetech wanted to revalve, shorten, and re-spring it for me. They quoted me at around 650 drive in/drive out.

Gravett Racing in Beaumont Texas did the revalve. They have never done a shock for dragracing before mine. I told him him I needed the shock rebound slowed down and he shimmed it and put the nitrogen bladder pressure to 200 psi for my weight and wheelbase. He will adjust it to my liking at no extra charges.
I witnessed today on another racer's bike what happens when the nitrogen bladder has low pressure in it. It speeds up the shocks compression and rebound. It was a zx10 with a shrader valve so they put air pressure on it and the shock immediately slowed on the stroke. Especially the rebound. I advise anyone with a stock shock on an extended 14 to take their shock to a motocross shop and have the nitrogen charged to at least 150psi factory pressure. The pressure bleeds off after a while and softens the shock feel.

You can get the shock revalved and new spring from Adams performance for I think $400. That's good that you gained that much! I hope I can have the same gains as you... A 1.30 60ft???

that's too much. Adams says at out weight it would be close as to not needing a spring, just revalving. Macintosh does it too.

WB is 65.75 .
Yes, the shock is stiff. I have to set both screws full soft to street ride.

With the busa spring I have the rebound 1/4 from full hard and compression 1 turn from full soft. Those settings would be completely different with the stock spring. I could feel the bike squat and seem like it stayed there. It did not spin the tire at the shifts anymore either.

did you ever try it with just the Busa spring and not revalved?

The Busa spring is 3 or 4 steps stiffer than the stock 14 spring. Only makes sense that the valving would be too soft for the stiffer spring.

Yes. For a few months. The Busa spring alone was a great improvement but it was too strong for the stock rebound valving. It seemed to get worse every Saturday. I could feel the bike squat and come up almost immediately. With the stock spring and valving the bike would wheelie 15 feet off the line when trying to get my fat ass in the 1.40's. With the busa spring it would start lifting at 30ft or so but allowed 1.46-1.48 60fts pretty consistently.

I found a local guy who deals in shocks and am getting mine revalved for $80.00. What should I get done 210 lbs rider, bike is 65-66 inch wheel base?how many shims?

I have a great suspension guy local. So what should I ask him to do? He's never done drag shocks. 200ish psi? hayabusa spring? and how many shims?
