The fuel will not run out of the lines on the right side of the tank leave the lines on.Use a zipp tie through the back bolt hole on the tank.saw this on shanes thread this will help hold the tank in place then just use a stick.put a towel under the tank in case the stick slips out.You dont need heat for the screw driver.Just push down and gently tap the screw driver and give it a slight turn clock wise then it will back right off.

Good news/ bad news situation. Good, I am in the process of learning more about how a zx14 works. Bad news I just stripped the hell out of one my sec fly screws. Looks like I'll be taking the throttle bodies out and hope I didn't ruin too much of the screw so I can dremel it. Damn.

That's why you heat them up first, to melt the loc-tite. If done right you can smell it when the loc-tite melts. Having a JIS screw driver helps too as it properly fits the screws. You can get them out w/o taking off the throttle bodies by using a needle nose vise grip with the tips heated & bent 90 degrees together. Remember to heat the screws with a hot screwdriver held in place till you smell the loc-tite melt, then clamp on the vise grips & turn slightly. Once loosened you should be able to remove them the rest of the way with a screwdriver. Good luck.

Thanks zixxer. I will try when I get home. I almost have the throttle bodies out but would gladly put it all back together if I can get the screws out.

J.I.S.= Japanese Industry Standard cross drive screws are a different enternal design.
Sorry this happened, but I did advise you about this. Google JIS and order a set of 3
of JIS drivers. Purchase the one's with a hardened tip that is magnetized. All the
Phillips looking screws on your 14 are J.I.S. The local Kaw Dealer had No idea
what I was talking about last year when I asked where I could purchase a JIS
screw driver.. after I read the thread that Wheelie posted about this topic last year.
Someone even posted drawings "Blueprint" on the two different drives and why the Phillips
can ruin the enternal drive on the head of the JIS screw.

Here's another good tip when working with some of the english cars.............
"PoziDriv" type of Phillips screws are used on them. I had to use drivers for this type on Deloreons in the day.

Removed the sec flies last night on mine. The phillips head screwdriver in the tool kit appears to be a JIS. Didn't have to use any heat on the tip either. Got lucky, I guess. :-)
