Buell out BMW in!

My local Harley dealer has announced they are now also a BMW dealer. I'll be checking out their showroom this week to check out the new line.

I can't believe BMW would let a Harley dealer sell there bikes, the majority of Harley dealers don't give a shit about performance bikes and the bigger BMWS would be direct competition for the road glides and electra Glides.

Ya but which bike they going to push to a guy, a big BMW touring bike or a electra glide? Just shocked. I feel with the buell 1125 they finally had a decent bike but the harley shops sucked at promoting them. they just sat in the corner and had to sell themselves to the guy that went there just for that.

BMW will rule the earth soon both sales and performance. They are definitely proving a point Litre bike for 2010, and of course the inline V6 to be available in 2011

To the Harley dealer that elected to sell the BMW brand: very wise business decision right there.

To the japs: Aprilia and BMW are all over you in road racing and sport touring bikes!

One local Harley dealer carrying BMW doesn't represent "Harley".

But Harley AND Kawasaki/Triumph/Vespa/etc dealers will be wise to carry the BMW brand, we'll watch its sales soar.

Stay tuned for the BMW inline 6 cylinder at 1600CC for 2011! (to follow the 1000CC road racer of 2010)

This dealer has been servicing BMW for years ( I found out from a BMW forum). Its a large Harley dealer in the area with a good reputation and they added Big Dog a few years ago. They built a huge new building and now have an independent website for the BMW. I think it is a good marketing move.
Not thinking of trading in the 14, but maybe the Road King? Just need to know if the 1000 rr is built for us XLT riders.

you guys take things serious - We're talking one harley dealer here, not the same deal as when harley merged with mv augusta.

Aprilia and BMW will rule the earth because:

1 jap prices went up across the board

2. euro prices went down across the board

3. euro bikes getting all the research and development and sponsoring racing, while jap bikes are on the sidelines

every motorcycle dealer should include BMW in its line-up!

bmw will fuck it up. They won't put a good clutch in it, and it will be heavy as fuck. They'll also put that god awful shaft drive on it. look at how bad they fucked away the k1300S. IMO the only way they'll ever compete in the hyperbike market is by paying off the magazines to give them a false win. I-6 has been done before and though they were cool looking and sounded great, they were slow heavy pieces of shit.

Bawls I think your wrong only time will tell. But BMW wants to play with the japs worse then ever and will do what it takes to pull it off. weather that's chain drives or switching to inline 4's like they have or you name it. and like steve said jap prices went way to high lately and there prices have actually came down. i know i will never buy another new Busa or ZX 14 for what there prices went up to. I will by a used low mile mint one first. jap bikes used to be a good value new but to me not any more. Hell I woulod never own one but jap prices are even starting to make harleys prices not seem that bad.

I suggest read Feb. Motorcyclist mag on the 1000....

quote from the president of BMW regarding 2010 world superbike series (all jap dominated):

"We are taking the battle to their battlefield, to play by their rules. This year we hope to develop the bike AND finish in the top 10."

Bold statement right there to finish "top 10" in first year out, when japs been doing this little game forever.

BMW's rule, I've had four, lowest mileage one was 140,000 when I sold it. My '99 1100S will eat a zx14 on any twisty road hands down, plus no chain lube needed, can adjust my valves in 1/2 hr. & sync injectors in 15 min.

And it's slow as fuck accelleration wise. if they come out with a 1600 i6 you know that it will be aimed at the big bikes. When the cards hit the table, I've got money that says it flops. Also, if it is indeed faster it will be a win win, because kaw and suzuki are not ones to sit back and let their flag ships be beaten up on. The only way that bmw will ever be the fastest is if they spend the money like yamaha had to in order to get the win and buy a super jockey.

Yeah I agree bawls, on a global scale the drag race sector is so small I suspect they won't target it when they roll out the inline 6, they will be the worlds best sport tourers and target the audience that buys a lot of bikes.

For example, I'd love to rock a dirt cheap '09 closeout Hyabusa for a sport tourer, but the competitive BMW K1300S or Honda VFR1200 offers a shaft drive for smoothness, heated grips, and such other BS that sells bikes for touring applications.
